I used to check that page several times a week back in the day. Now it's full of people I've not seen here for forever. This forum's still pretty active by forum standards, but it's obvious we're not using it like we used to.
I'm somehow in the top 20. Interesting.

Yeah. Kind of to be expected since dolphin isn't "new" anymore. Most of that excitement has moved to wiiu/switch emulation. Dolphin is still improving at a good rate but it's already reached a pretty good state so naturally more of the attention has shifted to newer platforms that aren't in as good of a state.
Wut? I still end up using Dolphin the most of all my emulators. Mostly to just emulate N64 VC titles... Welp... Which I can do just about as fine on a N64 emulator like Project64... Now that I think about it. Anyway, the GC and Wii have some unmatched classics super Paper Mario: TTYD and Super Mario Galaxy.
Now what I need is some more retexturing features, like multiple textures / hashes being able to share the same PNG texture, ya know? For more efficient use of Disk Space and RAM.
I'm sure there are bazillions of people who've used Dolphin more than me - I initially became interested because someone bought me a copy of Super Mario Galaxy and the Wii was downstairs and required negotiating with family members for access to the TV, and yet I've still never got further than the bee bit near the beginning. This forum just had lots of interesting people talking about interesting things at around the time I got my first computer that I didn't have to share, so I stuck around after my initial post.
Reminds me of how I
first got started on the Dolphin Forums. Around the time I was graduating college, I was getting back into emulation, and I was obsessed with playing stuff in HD. Playstation 1, N64, and especially GameCube. I remember there was an older screenshots thread around here. Once I saw some of my favorites (Melee, Tales of Symphonia, F-Zero GX), I started lurking around here. Finally worked up the courage to build a gaming PC. Guess I went around helping people (a lot) and kinda found a home here.
If it weren't for Dolphin and folks like neobrain, I might not have gotten inspired to developing emulators myself. I owe this community a lot really. AnyOldName3, don't forget you were the one who originally suggested I make custom graphics for Game Boy games. I don't maintain that feature much anymore, but it was wild when it first came out
Hey, a thread where NV talks about SSAA being broken and VRAM bandwidth! That takes me back.
Time flies. I changed my nickname two times since I joined this forum but because we can't change it here, I still have my old one.
I still use Dolphin if I feel like I want to play in HD/4K but for everything else, I moved to RetroArch to play my games in native resolution with the CRT Royale shader.

ye it does. its like how somebody reminded me recently that the wii was released 14 years ago.
i instantly started feeling very old. that means ive been around for way to long (including 12y of maintaining priiloader and a little bit longer of being semi part of dolphin-emu ... )
Yep, reminds me how I was first so active on the forum and with Dolphin, I was still in engineering studies at that time...
Now I have neither time for coming back here, nor for playing games, sadly... ^^'
