Seriously, this is the only the third game I ever bought twice. The first was Pokemon Red (the internal battery died
) then Halo CE: Anniversary. Even though I have this game on PCSX2 running in HD, the 3DS port remains my most played game yet on the system. Get it!
I only learned about this game yesterday from my co-worker actually. I rank Abyss' battle system very high, chiefly because of the Field of Fonon effects. Xilia's was fun, but once you got skilled, it was easy to keep spamming Linked Artes. Once you get enough CP or whatever determines how many attacks you can do in a row, I just kept spamming Jude's Swallow Dance. I hope the next battle system let's you dynamically swap party members in battle though, this was neat.
Now I wait. Hopefully it will have been worth the wait/weight.

Abyss is great, and the 3DS version fixes a major problem of the PS2 version (load times). Just bear with how annoying Luke is... it gets better. /me tries to avoid spoilers.
@Garteal: ToS is probably my favorite for multiple reasons, but the battle system isn't one of these reasons. TP management is terrible in that game, and most of the time you end up burning through all your TP in the first 10 fights of a dungeon. Camera is horrible with 4 people in a fight (as in, expect your healers to be out of the screen and not notice when an enemy attacks them). Still, preordered Chronicles and will be doing a playthrough with some friends when it's released

Yeah I agree, the battle system certainly isn't the games strong point, though I still find it (despite its many flaws) enjoyable to chain combo everything.

Sounds like fun! How are you guys actually playing the game? I mean only one person gets to control the main character and the rest can only play along in the battles.
(I assume so since they're probably the same people you've played the other Tales games with)
Yeah, 4 player battles and we change who controls the main character every hour or so. With ToS we also have fun voicing the cutscenes ourselves since most of the dialogue lines aren't voiced
I've returned home from my interview at Cambridge. Now the only thing I have to do is wait to see if I get an offer.

Put the beta (or latest stable) network drivers
from the killer website (as the ones MSI distribute are old and buggy... unless they've bothered updating them in the last 5 months since I last checked for an update) on a pendrive in case your interwebs fail. The version with a Windows-8-style interface works a lot better than the one with a more traditional interface.

No, no it isn't XD
Yeah, it was. At the time, Funcoland was a lot closer than any store (yeah, even Target) that sold the batteries the games needed. And the internet sucked back then, so you had no instructions whatsoever (good luck with that being a 9 year-old).
