Surely that's a good trait for a paid programmer. You'll become so obsessed that you finish your part of the project perfectly before anyone else has their bit done, and then can waste a tonne of time later because you're waiting for the rest of the team to write the rest of the program.
Thread seems ded, where is everyone? Anyways I am currently debating on purchasing parts for my system and also building my own Steam machines. I believe one of the features of SteamOS is streaming games over LAN, correct? I could use that with the family sharing feature so I can stream games to less capable hardware so my sister can play on her computer and I can share/stream games for my parents to play if anything in my collection is of any interest to them. Also wondering if perhaps SteamOS can be used to stream Dolphin and other emulators over LAN.
Right now for my main system this is what I will be purchasing:
Decent LGA1150 motherboard
Core i7 (Haswell)
Either an extra 2GB module of DDR3 ram or a brand new 2 x 4GB kit.
Single GTX 780.
The current OS builds don't support streaming or dual booting yet, but they will at some point. I'd hold out for a while. Also, I think they'll eventually be able to stream from Windows (although not necessarily to Windows) as long as Steam is installed, so don't go telling your whole family they're using a gutted linux build from now on.
I just hope it's not only limited to Linux compatible titles because that would just suck and not even be worth it.
Tomorrow is my b-day, and I have almost no idea what to do (apart from celebrating).
Just browsed through my picture library and found this one again..
I so should post this to our Facebook page at some point, just to see how people like the crap out of it...
Now tell me, did you actually do that in Qt (just the pictures ofc) or did you photoshop them in?
