Galaxy Note II would be a good choice. Or of course the Galaxy SIII. Those are the best phones you can really get right now. And if you aren't into the Android OS you can install mobile Ubuntu, which is simple and very smooth. I recommend getting the Galaxy S III ad putting Ubuntu on it. Do you want to game much on your phone?
Wait for the Samsung galaxy S IV coming next month :3

No. From what I can see smartphone gaming is still in a fairly laughable state with nearly every big budget studio trying to appeal to casual gamers (with the exception of emulation). And the hardware being much weaker than people give it credit for.

Going an entire month without a phone is going to be hard. Plus won't the pricetag be astronomical?
If you're not gaming get the HTC OneVX. It's only $0.01 and it's a good phone. It can also run many of the emulators at full speed, like Gameboid and N64oid.
For the record I am willing to pay a couple hundred bucks (with contract) for a good phone. Which pretty much includes everything except the samsung galaxy tab 2 and the iphones.
Then get the HTC. It's a great phone.
Actually it will be less than a month, it will either be 2 days or 2 weeks, I'm not sure XD

The price difference really isn't that big. And is seems like the galaxy S3 has a much better camera, much better battery life, much better display, a usb port, among other things.
I do appreciate you giving your opinion but I'm going to wait for some other opinions.

Well I can't find any solid release date, pricing, or spec info.
I'm not going to wait around for a future product that nobody knows anything about.
@AnyOldName3
But you already have an HD 6950....
