I have another HDD connected farther down on the same cable that works just fine, I've also tried another power cable as well already.
But anyway I was able to update my AHCI drivers and it did make it a lot better, I just have to hope when I boot up it works, if it dosn't I just reboot and it does.
Don't underestimate windows' stupidity when it comes to accessing drives. I have a networked USB drive which likes to go to sleep (as USB drives are designed to do), windows will often freeze completely while waiting for the drive (which is in a completely different room, initially leading to much head scratching until I figured out what was going on) to spin up. If I was actually doing something with the drive I could understand it, but no - it does it for stupid things like right-clicking on highlighted text or opening a new tab in a browser, and completely blocks everything else on the PC while it's waiting.
Yep, pretty much what happens to me. I'm going to try and hold out till I upgrade to windows 10 and if that doesn't fix it I'll do a clean install.

They've invested too much into it to quit, no matter how horrible it is. Don't they have a comic book and TV series for Boom? It's got financial inertia at this point; they can't stop spending on it even if they wanted to.
While the games were terrible, the TV series is good (at least from what I heard -- Sonic Boom didn't start broadcasting where I live yet). I think they should focus solely on the comic book/TV Series and let those bad games die...
Well, if they're making a sequel, sounds like they turned a profit on the 1st game. They'll keep doing it until they can't

True. When I turn on my PC, the mouse (or sometimes the entire OS) has to wait until my external HDD has woken up. That time is longer that the complete boot time.
And when I turn the PC off, if the external HDD is asleep, it first has to wake up before the PC turns off! Like it can't be killed in its sleepÂ

Oooooh. I used to have something like that and I couldn't figure out wtf was going on (it doesn't help that I have a near-silent HDD, and not loud but audible case fans). That's probably what was going on.
I still occasionally get this randomly on reboots.
this is why we use superior open source OS

While the games aren't exactly busting any blocks, the
TV show seems to be doing very well! Which kind of puts sonic boom games into the category of movie tie in games. How... backwards.
