Alright I'm going to leave it at this then drop it..

Maybe superficial isn't the right word I was looking for. Woman (men to a lesser extent) seem to be obsessed with looks, as I said the media perpetrates, encourages this. Generally (in my case) guys that aren't that attractive physically i.e. ugly or nerdy, overweight, are socially awkward, mentally ill are going to struggle way more than their female counterparts when it comes to relationships and dating. Even if I shoot for standards lower than I'd like, woman that I shouldn't have any problem getting a date and establishing a relationship with never consider me romantically and all I'll ever be to them is a good friend. On the flip side I see woman whom go through the same or are worse off that are able to find guys, not just guys but attractive guys interested in dating them. It's become bad enough for me that I've just accepted my fate and realized that maybe I was destined to be single all my life for some reason. I've stopped pursuing relationships outside of simply making and keeping friends which is also very difficult for me. Not to fuel this further but most fail to realize a lot of stuff being claimed as sexist etc.. is generally how society is, the truth isn't sexist. The stereotypes continue to thrive because those affected allow them to, please do tell me the ratio of woman to men you see on the front lines in war, doing construction work, heavy labor and getting their hands dirty? As I said this doesn't apply to everyone, there are decent woman and men alike out there not like that but I haven't met them yet. Stuff like this is common enough in our society any bad apples outweigh the good, people tend to notice the bad more than the good. Just like no matter how much good you did all it takes is one thing to screw it up, people will always remember the one bad thing and forget all the good things you ever did.

I would expand further and list other examples not solely limited to sexism but that would be treading outside what's currently being discussed and run the topic further off course than it already is. I rest my case and jolly good day to everyone. I suppose my vacation is long overdue and it's time to hang forums up and hang out with friends/family or start playing my massive backlog of games in my free time.

This is probably one of the worst over-analyses of a joke (which may have been in bad taste, but I originally assumed it to be mocking the stereotype, not the people the stereotype applies to [before this gets misinterpreted I'm going to clarify that I mean that I thought he was mocking the people who believe the stereotype to be true]) I've ever seen, and I've been the victim of missed sarcasm more than once. Did we really have to assume he was being a sexist pig, rather than making an attempt at a light joke with the intended butt being the sexists?

@AON3 - He said most women in the country are superficial. That statement was not a joke, nor was it said in sarcastic terms. It's not the "girls like bad boys" joke I'm on about.

@X2damax - The only thing I'm going to contend was sexist was that original superficial statement, because it was a blanket statement that made negative assumptions about women.

If it wasn't for my sarcasm and mocking being blown out of proportion these further replies wouldn't exist. I'm not the best at explanations and sometimes use incorrect terms so superficial may not be what I really meant to say. I should have just responded to RachelB with Y SO SERIOUS and explained I was being sarcastic and mocking those giving me such relationship advice leaving it at that. Those giving me "advice" claimed that's why I'm so unattractive to woman because they typically like bad boys and douchebags because they radiate confidence. That I have literally no chance ever hooking up with an attractive woman due to to my mental state, social issues, anxiety and lack of confidence. I have confidence even more so nowadays but the usual ritual is I build up confidence only be knocked down and have my heart clawed out thus the cycle continues no matter how many times I've tried over the years. It was not my intention to be sexist just be sarcastic and mocking of these relationship "gurus" because my experiences state otherwise.

Case closed, it was just sarcasm and ofc I dug myself further into the hole. Should have just posted in the bin at Ngemu because no one here would understand what I was on about.

If anything else these last N pages on the thread probably explain why you're not getting laid.

Just stahp please. It was sarcasm and I'm being made the victim and bad guy here because someones sarcasm detector is broke and blew this way out of proportion. Then I feel I have to defend myself but only dig myself further down in unintentionally.

This ends here, no further replies to this please and don't take what I said seriously and so personally. Geez I didn't expect members here of all places to react like this.. No more replies otherwise I'll be inclined to continue responding; I started it and thus must finish it so lets just forget all this as it was one huge misunderstanding.

The important thing to remember is that no matter how dumb the opinion you're giving, someone, somewhere will actually think it, and this person will assume everyone mocking them actually agrees with them. This then leads to the noisy few treating their view as if it's also that of the quiet many. People then assume this is because it's true, and then get offended effectively for no reason (but they don't know they're not supposed to be offended, because they're under the impression you're more likely to be being mean to the wrong group). It's a shame, and it ruins a load of bad jokes, but you can't make this change until the issues are so thoroughly in the past that the things aren't even funny and more. (After all, who'd laugh at sexists/racists/homophobes when you're completely disconnected from them - you'd just dismiss them as people from a different time, and feel sorry for the people who suffered.)

That sounds more like a warning than what applies to the above. There hasn't been any attempt to hide or censor anything here and I don't plan on deleting my posts or removing anything that I've said. So what if it spreads and I become the laughing stock of the internet, I couldn't care less what randoms online think as it doesn't affect me personally.. Why would I care as the above amounts to nothing more than a huge misunderstanding over a sarcastic remark that was blown way out of proportion when I have more pressing matters to worry about? Well it will be the last time I post anything like that here and I suppose I'll stick to Ngemu as no one there will take such a remark seriously or personally.
