Last time it was that cheap around here, we had that recession (after prices were like nearly $5 in Chicago and $4+ in the surrounding areas).
Picked up Luigi's Mansion on Friday and Dark Cloud today. My game collecting seems off to a decent start this year. Going to try going to some pawn shops and yard sales this year, as opposed to just scouting Goodwill (although, tbf, Goodwill gave me plenty of nice things last year).
1. Gas prices go down
2. Everyone buys SUVs
3. Demand for gas rises
4. Gas prices go up to compensate
And so the cycle repeats.....
So now I'm having two major issues with my Note 4 that I surprisingly cannot find much if anything about online.
1. Screen rotation has suddenly stopped working. I believe this is an issue with the gyroscope but from what I can tell the sensors seem fine. My camera app is also constantly taking pictures upside down or with the wrong orientation and photospheres and panorama's are completely misaligned which further supports the idea that it's a gyro issue. I have tried power cycling. Hitting the phone hard against a surface to "unstick" the sensor. Figure8 movements, clearing the cache, etc. All I can think of at this point is to do a factory reset and I really want to avoid that if possible.
2. When playing any video file with 10 bit color I get horrible color banding that makes the content barely watchable. It seems that it is discarding the uppermost 2 bits on every sample. I have tried vlc, mx player, samsung player, etc. all with no luck. It does it in both hw and sw decode. I am surprised that I could not find anything at all on google about this issue. I don't see what I could possibly try to fix this considering it's starting to look like a hardware issue somehow.

As much as people love to take a dump on hybrids (particularly the Prius line) it's hard to beat 50~ mpg. I think that people dislike people coasting too often in an effort to conserve gas though.
How bad do you suppose sports cars are in comparison? I'm sure they contribute to this trend as SUV's do. Hell an old friend of mine who's got a need for speed also happens to be a terrible driver. He's wrecked 2 cars (maybe 3), and his mother turns around, and buys him convertible Mustang for his birthday. You can't fix stupid.
Also this.

Until...
5. Gas production drops due to it being a finite resource
6. War begins
7. 200 year dark ages begin
8. Electric cars are finally viable for the public
electric cars are pretty much already here, in terms of usefulness. they're only around in the luxury sports car market right now but it shouldn't take too long for regular people models to roll around
really, them tesla cars are REALLY good
Tesla won't be on good footing in the States until USA laws stop prohibiting them to sell directly to consumers. It's pretty much protectionism for established dealerships. Anti-consumer and anti-competitive, but 100% all American

I like your thinking.

Uh....no. I had a prius for a year, and that was several years ago. The majority of electric cars are not luxury cars or sports cars.
I mean purely-electric, not hybrids
That's true then. I had forgotten that some institutions group hybrids in their own separate category (which makes little sense if you ask me).
Does anyone have any advice about my two phone issues that I mentioned earlier?
every engine type is grouped on its own. hybrids are not grouped as "electric" because they're not just electric, and only some of them use primarily the electric motors. they're also not grouped as "gasoline" or "diesel" because they aren't just gasoline or diesel or whatever the ICE is that the electric motors are paired with, and only some of them use primarily the ICE. most hybrid cars often use both engines in near equal amounts depending on how the driver drives the vehicle
this is why they are placed on their own, NV
EDIT: I should note this is not some insane thing only a couple of big people do. this is the standard, for exactly what reason I have stated above.
let's also get this out there for a big reason why separate classification is needed for hybrids: they have MUCH longer drivable distances than either electric alone or ICE alone. electric saves fuel for the ICE, and the ICE recharges for the electric. for long-distance, low-haul purposes, hybrids should dominate (but don't because of the current low power of most motors and other factors). hell, with enough development into the electric motor, hybrids could take over the slow vehicle markets (especially city buses).
