As if an unstable CPU is acceptable under any circumstances...
Well... It can be okay if you really need the squeeze out some extra single core performance, and you never max out all cores at once.Â
Sure must be nice to know you're using a malfunctioning CPU which could silently corrupt data and crash at any moment...
It is often possible to overclock in such a way that it is perfectly stable as long as you don't Mac all cores at once. I would not do that, but I can see why some might.

Wasn't always private but wow, I've gotten like 2-3 more of them today. The hell is going on?
Well anyway, they just made it so you have to own a game or $5 to do basically anything so hopefully it gets better.
I've seen a bunch of people commenting on that as if Steam is suddenly becoming XBox Live where you need to keep paying a ridiculous amount, but I can't think of many situations where it'd be something people needed to care about. If you're in a group of F2P TF2 players and want to play together, the chances that there isn't one person in the group who owns another game who can add everyone to a group chat etc. is pretty low.
Personally, I don't have a problem paying the amount that I do for Xbox Live. Keeping global servers up is rather expensive, and in the case of online console gaming, you get what you pay for. As an Xbox person, I don't have to worry about my service going down on Microsoft's end because I pay so much for it. Now, that's not to say that all the money I pay goes to the servers, but in my experience Xbox Live has excellent online service and is worth the money. I don't think that Steam becoming like XBL is such a bad deal, but that's just imo
It's not that Steam is making you pay $5 all the time, just at least once
I still wonder why CD Keys can't be used for this.
Otherwise you could get a gazillion keys from Humble Bundle for a penny each and then Steam wouldn't know whether to credit you for the RRP or the lowest the key's ever been available. Either way, someone gets screwed over.
As for XBL vs Steam, I've never had steam go down while I was using it, but have had plenty of issues with XBL. The per-user annual server cost is just a tiny fraction of what you're charged for, which is why it's considered covered by the cost of the game on any other platform.
It's too quiet here. Has anyone read about the recent paid mod fiasco for Skyrim by no other than greedy, lazy Valve and Bethesda?
