Bad idea.

I can confirm. (Y40-80)
Also appears to be linked to Computrace. (Not active on my laptop)
Y50-70 is not part of the affected products list provided by Lenovo. My autochk.exe matches up to one on another non-Lenovo Windows 10 system. Although, with all these possible security breaches happening with Lenovo, it's such a shame because they make good computers.
Why bother with OEM crap? If you like Lenovo computers but those security breaches concerns you, just do a clean Windows install as soon as you get a new computer and problem is solved

rootkit installed in bios turns a clean windows install into a lenovo install, as specified by the link being conversed about.

I'm seriously curious as to what you were doing on the internet to have stumbled upon something so random.
Holy shit he has been in more places than your sister
Traditionally the butt of that kind of joke isn't a sister, but instead 'Yo moma'. There's little point trying to mix it up a little when it's already been done to death.

Please tell me this mythical place where you can buy laptops for less than two euros...
(just kidding, I know that Europe has their decimal points and separators backwards.)
You live in Austria... Makes sense.
