Regarding whether a teleported person is still the original person: I guess it's just one of those subjects where there is no objective right or wrong. Kinda like the airplane treadmill problem, except without the physics to rescue us.
Also on the subjects of spirits/souls, I'm Christian and religious, but I find it silly to believe that a soul would be tied to your physical body (and hence it should be unaffected by teleportation/uploading of your mind into a supercomputer/anything else). Not trying to start a religious debate here, though.
Now, on another note, I'm pretty sure that this method of teleportation doesn't transfer matter at all; it may either only transfer the information, or at best would convert all the matter into energy and radiate/beam that to the destination. I don't really see how you could then reconstruct the teleported object without a receiving machine at the end point.
@Garteal: What ED2 said. Just block all level 0s and 1s with a private profile. Pretty much any real user would either have at least level 2, or a public profile (or both, in the vast majority of cases).

Yes, life is one big joke, and it's all on you. Because it's your birthday :p
lol jetpacks. Happy birthday KH
@speleegn It depends on how you define consciousness, whether it's biological or extranatural (or nonexistent). idk honestly, the bible isn't very clear on what a soul is and/or what beings have them

Flying cars were a joke as well. Everything's been a joke.) We only kinda got serious about the philosophical side-effects of teleportation. Per-particle teleportation (or an approximation) is probably possible with today's tech, but on very small scales, e.g. reconstructing basic molecules over short distances and not exactly instantaneously either, requires magnets or magic or something. I don't think anyone's actually considered any of the other stuff plausible (I mean, come on? Jetpacks?) We're just being silly in the Random thread.
I know but when it comes to science i can't help myself answering seriously
, because everyone has a hidden hope i think that everything in our imagination with a bit of science it will be achieved sooner or later, nevertheless there are limits everywhere around us even in nature itself and not every limit can be surpassed.

Well if you have a private profile it's level 0 anyway, some people have legitimate reasons for that, but mostly just phishers (now if they have no name I see no reason to friend them at all)

Yes! I can do whatever I want now with no consequences

They changed their name from "Freddy" to that, but I've removed them now. They never said anything.

By definition, it can't be nonexistent, because we are conscious. The exact nature of consciousness might surprise us, but the definition of consciousness pretty much guarantees its existence afaik.
If it's biological, then reconstructing a perfect replica of your brain would replicate your consciousness, personality, memories, thoughts, etc. exactly. If it's extranatural, then it's up to opinions (and I already stated mine).
Also working jetpacks already do exist and stuff. I'm pretty sure there have been working models for at least a couple decades now. (Don't quote me on that though.)
Thinking of which, let me make a proposal: jetpack cars!
Jesus Christ GTA V is more intense than hours of Prime95. It crashes all the time with 0x00000124 BSOD (which I sadly can't see in action, but Windows Event Viewer shows it).
It's 100% Prime-stable and doesn't crash in any other games. I'll try to improve cooling^^

That would probably be since your profile is private
