I try not to try pretending to be smart lol. I spend more time reading posts and articles on the internet (from trustworthy sources ofc) than I do actually playing games these days. I'm not unintelligent in real life although some might assume that due to social awkwardness and verbal issues. In the past I would usually avoid responding to anything that may invoke ill feelings or heat. Pressure, criticism, rejection, humiliation and insults are all things I don't handle too well. I also don't to well when it comes attempting to explain or elaborate further. However I'm learning to work past that to find zen (inner peace) to not let things affect me so much, try to work past social awkwardness and insecurities. It's best to avoid or limit myself on the things I just can't cope well with atm.
Also, I shouldn't post while tired or when I'm sleep deprived as I'm essentially posting "drunk" lol.

Remember Maverick Hunter X, well I'm that guy also.
So yeah, now you know....
I already pointed that out years ago. You and "Maverick Hunter X" posted slightly different pics of the same SNES collection. I still have them saved on my HDD. Also, I checked your IPs a while ago as well...

Digressing for a moment about the Dolphin emulator itself, I think it's really pushing boundaries as a project. It's probably the most well organized FOSS console emulator I've ever seen (delroth's recent article is a testament to that). I've been into emulation for over half my lifetime, but the level of sophistication still blows me away every time I look at what is being developed.
I think the community itself will probably see a change once all of those young gamers whose first console was the Wii start feeling nostalgic and turn to Dolphin to preserve their games in 5 or 10 years (or tomorrow). You know, once the Wii gets relegated to the likes of a "retro" console. I dunno what'll happen, just guessing.

Console emulator maybe, but if you compared it to ScummVM I don't think Dolphin's quite king yet.

That's why I was careful to say "console" emulator to begin with :p I'm sure there are other emulator projects (not just FOSS) that are advanced (and probably have commercial development behind them).

One thing that helped me a lot was realising that if somebody doesn't immediately start listening to your arguments and making logical counter-arguments, then you can completely stop taking them seriously. Once you realise this, any internet argument becomes hilarious when you simply think of the effort the person spent on writing out the meaningless jumble of insults; and personally I have come across a few posts that I even saved in notepad, just because of how amazingly stupid they were - to the point of being worthy of remembrance.
Of course I can't say I have the same psychology as you do, and I am known among my friends to be generally quite apathetic and non-sensitive. But maybe it will still help you anyway. That said, you should do what feels right to you, so if you think you should take a break from internet forums, then maybe it would indeed be for the best.
Also I'm not usually very good with giving supportive advice, so if my tip didn't help or anything, feel free to ignore it completely.

Then I shall take it upon myself to continue that legacy.
Wow that pig is freaky right there..
The pig is back!
By the way, I'm still here. Not as active as I used to be because I lost interest in emulation. I'm a Delfino Plaza Poster now.
my experience so far with debian-based distros has been that apt LOOOOOOVES to uninstall packages without asking you first and break everything because you installed some packages as dependencies for a certain package but pretty much every other package in your system relies on said packages, and if you don't autoremove then packages are deactivated and can never be used again unless you autoremove
don't you just love it when you have to autoremove glibc?

You really got an oddysey over there.
well, you're going to love this next one:
I somehow did something so that no commands actually lead to any applications. I have until I close my browser and currently-open terminal to fix it. Note that this just happened, without my input, while WINE was being compiled.
pre-posting edit because reasons: it seems like every single package on my system was uninstalled for some reason. I am incredibly confused both at how this happened and how exactly I'm going to fix it...
EDIT: APT confirmed for having deactivated every single package on my system and placed most of them in the autoremove queue
apparently, though, I got a lot of them when I autoremoved while installing build dependencies for wine...
