Anti-Ultimate Wrote:No, Nintendo will keep pushing out their more successful things, the WiiU needs them. I know Metroid Prime/Starfox/Donkey Kong Games used to be system sellers, but they aren't now and totally not for the WiiU, Starfox games on the 3DS are mostly remakes, e.g. Starfox 64 3D.
That doesn't make any sense. Of course Star Fox isn't going to be a system seller, because Nintendo isn't making any new games for the franchise. Star Fox (the original SNES title) keeps getting remade (SF64, SF643D), Star Fox 2 was never released. Only Assault and Command have pushed the SF games farther than that. Adventures is a SF game, but not in the sense of the 3D space shooter genre. A lot of fans only consider there really being 3 "true" SF games (SF and its remakes, Assault, and Command). That's basically screaming for this IP to be better utilized.
Nintendo is relying on just about everything but Metroid Prime and Star Fox (DK being the exception), and it's not working for them financially. My friends and co-workers keep discussing the matter, and we keep coming to the conclusion that 1st party support is going to pull the Wii U along through this generation (maybe the next Xeno game will sell big, fingers crossed). Star Fox and Metroid games are some of their best reoccurring IPs. At a time when the Wii U is having a serious game drought, it needs all the games it can get. It needs heavy sellers like Pokemon as much as it does Star Fox. The Wii U is a desert, even for a Nintendo fan such as myself (NSMB U is been there done that, SM3DW looks interesting but not worth buying an entire console for, don't like DK games that much... so there's nothing for me). It's this lack of 1st party games (or games at all) that still has kept me from buying a Wii U (only until Smash Bros comes out though).
Also, please explain why these titles are not for the Wii U.
Code:
:D
tasklist /fi "imagename eq filename.exe" |find ":" > nul
rem if not running, then find OK
rem if running, then no colon, error
if %errorlevel% == 0 (
start "" "path\to\file\name.exe"
)
goto :D
Save to runthis.cmd .
Use "hstart /noconsole runthis.bat" to run without a file.
So what about Battletanx, who holds the ip and copyrights for that now? My parents loved those on the N64 and hoped at some point for new Battletanx game with updated graphics and other additions.
Eh, you and I might be waiting a looooong time before a new BattleTanx game comes out. It was 3DO's IP, but after they went bankrupt, the rights to various properties were sold off. Dunno which company holds what, a more thorough google search should help.
I have fond memories of Global Assault on the N64. My best friend and I played the campaign start to finish (many times) in his basement.

Oh, i'm hopeless when it comes to any sort of programming, i did find a program though, a bit hard to configure but should work.

You'll have to excuse me, whenever i set my eyes upon code my brain makes it non-existent and i miss it. Also, no idea what to do with the code, only part i get is yo put the filepath at line 4 and save as .cmd, is that all i need to do? Also, "Use "hstart /noconsole runthis.bat" to run without a file." explain that please cause no idea how to apply it in cmd.
Delete the old file and use this code instead:
Code:
:D
tasklist /fi "imagename eq filename.exe" |find ":" > nul
rem if not running, then find OK
rem if running, then no colon, error
if %errorlevel% == 0 (
start "" "path\to\file\name.exe"
)
ping -n 1 -w 5000 192.0.2.0 > nul
goto :D
You just run the file. It will keep running and check every 5 seconds. To change the time, replace the second-to-last line with:
ping -n 1 -w <time_in_milliseconds> 192.0.2.0 > nul
Also, hstart is a "start-program" utility that can start console programs without a window. You must download first.
