Gonna take a look at that a bit later. Speaking of Star Wars, I hope Lord Vader is doing well and has a good career as an author.
Edit: finally 1800 posts wow... that took a long, long time.
Yeah, we've not seen him for ages. Did he just stop logging in, or did he make a goodbye post and stuff?
I've noticed quite a few members disappeared and this place doesn't seem as booming as it was. Some nice progress with the emulator that would have normally gained lots of attention. I guess we can thank Facebook for killing forums. I rolled my eyes at those that said that but now I see how most of the active communities I've been visiting for years fizzling out.
Speaking of missing members anyone know what happened to nosound.97? Did he vanish, change his name or is lurking around somewhere?
So, do y'all think that autonomous cars are safer? Why or why not?
I personally am not looking forward to self driving cars for the sole reason of it meaning I have to buy a new one
Considering that autonomous systems are a part of my major, yes
But more seriously, with the use of high quality sensors like 360 deg LIDAR to eliminate blind spots and keep track of objects helps prevent collisions, vision systems can provide data for lane centering so you don't stray from your lane, and SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) path planning allows for optimal route choice.
Yes, but I have to buy a new car. That would suck.

Yes, but it sets off alerts on my hypersensitive radar of incorrect punctuation. It's part of the grammar;nazi universe (a popular series among pendantics and nerds alike)
About self-driving cars, I'm cool as long as there is a manual override just in case crap goes crazy. Would be interesting to see if eventually an entire generation grows up without ever learning how to drive by themselves (maybe in the far future though). But forget about cars that can drive themselves. Dammit, this is 21st century, where are my flying cars?!
About nosound97, dunno where he/she went. They were long gone by the time I joined. I'm still here though, and obviously I'm the only one that matters anyway
@Shonumi
Flying cars have actually been in development for a number of years in the Czech Republic I think? Possibly Holland. Anyways, they are a real thing and will be standard in ~20-40 years in Europe if R&D and marketing do their job
Also-primary argument against automatic cars-driving fast is fun. Scientific fact.
