Shonumi Wrote:Reminds me of the time a girl at my High School wanted to get out of test, so she sent a bomb threat to the school. It happened during my PE class while we were out at a local golf course. When we came back by bus, the school was on lockdown (if there had been a bomb or credible threat of a bomb, why drive us back to school at all?). Everybody was put out in the football field until an all-clear was given. When these kinds of threats are real, they're dangerous to everyone, and when they're fake, it just causes unnecessary panic, fear, and delays (rest of the classes were canceled that day though, not complaining about that).
Btw, the girl was caught, iirc she used her own phone to send the threat. Dodgy I doubt she would have passed that test even if she had studied...
Hopefully this stuff with Leiden doesn't turn into anything other than dealing with the person who made the threat.
That's incredibly stupid of her. Glad to hear that your school seems to have handled things pretty well. (Driving the kids back to the bomb-site, not so much
)
You guys get Golf for PE? Lol, how was it? PE used to pretty random here, but mostly consisting of dodgeball, football, basketball, hockey, etc.
As for the Leiden incident, the cops seem to have a (probably not related) suspect. Tomorrow the schools will open up. Hopefully things will stay peaceful and clear up soon.

Quick, purchase a backup hard drive and save your data from destruction.

Your Ex HDD might not have enough of power(lack of power will cause strange noises) if you plugged multi-EX HDDs to the laptop .
I use USB hub with an external power cable
I don't know for sure , you problem may be different
In case if you lost your data , you could use "Power Data Recovery" . However , it will not recover everything . So the only solution right now is this

@dEnigma - Hope you backed up your porn, bro.
@Garteal - That was my senior year, iirc, and we had several classes we could choose for PE. I picked Individual Sports both semesters (which included Tennis and Ping Pong, wtf). We had all the cool sports activities as far as I was concerned (Rollerblading anyone?). Man, I wish our district hadn't essentially banned dodgeball. There was something about it being discriminating towards the less athletic (read: kids who sucked at throwing, or dodging).
Fun fact: Illinois (last time I checked) was the only US state to mandate that its school districts include a PE program for every grade (or sth like that). So here, there's no getting out of it until you graduate or drop out :p

Yeah, I was lazy, out of money and needed every megabyte I could get my hands on^^

Well, it's one of those external HDD that have two USB-plugs in case you want to use them on a computer without at least USB 2.0 ports, but since my laptop has USB 3.0 ports anyway I only ever plugged in one of them and it worked fine so far. There also are no other USB-devices plugged in, so I suspect it's something else. I guess I'll have to buy a new HDD now
and hopefully this time I'm not to lazy to setup a backup strategy
My 2nd HD also makes strange noises but it's still been functional for over a year now, the only downside is a sector is completely dead or something, once i reach 50GB of free space, it's gives a CRC error when sending in new files, 50GB is alot of space to lose
I haven't lost a single HDD yet although I have a lot of 'em ! Don't know why
Even my 5 years old Seagate Barracuda 80GB - 7200rpm Sata HDD still work fine till now (yes , no strange noise whatsoever)
USB sticks failed to meet my expectation (I had spent a lot of money on them before I switched to EX HDD, now they're all broken) . This is the reason why I hate USB flash drives , they're so fragile
Looks like my ISP finally fixed my internet XD

Same. I've never had problems with any HDD I've ever owned. And I've owned dozens of them. I'm currently using an 8 year old samsung 10k rpm 160GB as my primary drive. It's still going strong.
inb4 everyone here HDDs fail
I have to admit that I don't handle my HDDs very carefully, and sometimes I just pull on a cable without checking which device it belongs to and one of my external HDDs falls down from, for example, my notebook's power supply onto the hard top of my desk [yes, my desk is a mess]
