Completely forgot to mention that I gave up entirely on using Xubuntu when I realized that I'd have to do more complicated crap to watch my stuff on netflix
nobody gets between me and archer and gets away with it unless they're playing video games with me, which is something I can't do with the money-stuffed assbutts over at netflix.
I recognize almost all the people on there and that gamecube adapter looks really nice
Not a big fan of Geoff Keighley though :/
EDIT: I'm really curious as to who made that ad though. It couldn't have been Nintendo cause last time I checked Nintendo wasn't so good at marketing the things recently...
Anyone know a way for a poor, poor Radeon HD 5770 user to record his insane speedruns without his computer shitting on itself and promptly declaring "je suis le roi des rosbifs!"*, before performing slowly because he has a slow CPU?
* = I try really hard when I try to make sentences in french, but I'm not very good at it (mostly only able to read french and understand perfectly what is being said), so, if that is wrong, and you happen to be better than me at writing in french, please do take a moment to flex your now-enlarged e-peen at me and make the sentence better, because I suck so bad that I probably deserve the e-cockslapalso it is supposed to say "I am the king of the English!" in a rather racist fashion, for those who don't speak french at all and are too lazy to go to google translate
Any free alternatives you know off-hand? I know some places where I could go if I can't afford full price, to get a 100% discount, but I'd rather rule out some good free alternatives before I go there.
EDIT: Actually, does anyone know how well rivatuner's/afterburner's built-in recording performs? You need to get rivatuner integrated into afterburner to get it to work for afterburner, though, so I'm reluctant, since rivatuner is known to cause bluescreens on some computers, and I've confirmed that my computer is part of that very "some".

Afterburner is good and comes with Rivatuner already; you don't need to integrate them yourself.
There's no need to get Dxtory unless you need a finer control of settings (like more than two audio streams for example).
You should not get bluescreens unless you're overclocking and are unsuccessful. Are you using the latest versions?
When exactly do you BSOD? When it tries to hook to a game?
I personally use Dxtory since I've gotten so used to it, but it doesn't really matter since I could use Afterburner just as easily.
I use the Lagarith Lossless Codec for lossless recording and when I can't use my GPU for recording.

No it won't. You can use whatever codec with Afterburner and depending on what you pick it can perform better or not.
FRAPS also uses its own propriety codec which you can't change. In comparison to other codecs, it's somewhat behind in terms of performance last I tested.
I install afterburner without rivatuner, since I've known for quite some time that having rivatuner installed does SOMETHING that causes semi-random BSODs. No overclocking when rivatuner does this, just have it running, always when my GPU is in high stress.
