Well can we implement a feature where every time you start a VC game or GameCube game there could be a screen saying:

Dolphin

Helping you relive your Nintendo past in HD!

And there can be the GameCube theme song playing while that message is showing. Just a nice little feature that could be added.

On a possibly more realistic note, maybe having the GameCube boot up screen animation (optionally) display when launching a GameCube game, you know, like how it does on a real GameCube.

I mean, we can launch the Wii menu - is there a way to launch the GameCube BIOS?
Put the bios in gc folder, and uncheck skip bios.

Why not? Sad

Can't we just make optional in case you wanna see that message? Don't you think that'd nice?
You realize that many other emulators can also run polygonal 3D games in HD yet none of them have a similar thing.

Contrary to popular belief, running older games in HD via an emulator isn't something that Dolphin made new nor did first.
Nice? Sure, for some people.

Useful? Not really. It's "fluff" that probably wouldn't appeal to a number of users. From a developer's perspective, it's pointless and annoying (more code that needs to be maintained, another feature to debug, another checkbox to add in the GUI and config settings).

Nothing is stopping you from rigging Dolphin to do it. Yes, not everyone can code, but someone might be able to help you implement this for your own personal use.
Maybe a frontend like HyperSpin is more of what he should be looking for?

(disclaimer: I've never used HyperSpin)
I think we should make this thread sticky.
Not really. This forum is already saturated with stuck threads. The best way to get features implemented is to request them on the Google Code page, or talk to the devs on IRC.

This thread has mostly been a "wish" kinda thread (see some of the more outlandish "feature" requests) though some people are realistic and their ideas get implemented.
