when i turn the framelimit off the speed is ~300%, 190 vps and 95 fps.
when i limit it to 60fps or also automatic, the speed goes down constantly to 100%, 60 vps and only 30-40 fps, and the game is slow like hell. is that normal?

I'm having a similar problem, running a Q9550 and Radeon 4890 on windows 7 x64, the game definitely runs too slow but the titlebar says 60VPS, 100% (and actual FPS are is 30).

I tried setting framelilmit to auto,60, 120, off, I tried using DX9 plugin, disabling audio throttle... Nothing helps. The VPS is always exactly 3 times the actual FPS, that's really strange...

Any idea ?

Guys, this is a well known problem caused by the emulator. Something concerning the FPS limiter is broken and has been for some time. You might have better luck with a 3xxx build.

Hey guys, I was running this game just fine (40 fps @ 720p and 1680x1050 full screen) until I reached World 2 (Egypt).

Now, with the same settings, it's running @ 15 fps and it's not playable anymore. Does anyone know what happened?

I remember that I was able for a few seconds to run it @ 40 fps yesterday, but now it's back to 15 fps.

World 1 still runs fluently.

I'm using Dolphin 2.0 RC1 and my system specs are:

Q9550 @ 2,83 Ghz (stock => do not want to overclock)
4 GB DDR2 ram
Sapphire Radeon HD4870 512 mb

You might want to list/print screen your graphic settings. Fps and resolution isn't much to go on.

Here are my settings running on Dolphin r-4812 (Safe Texture Cache had to be on or 4-3 level would crash)

Thanks for the reply!

I was just busy trying other possibilities, and as DX9 was running very slow at first I kept using the OpenGL plugin. With trial & error I came to your settings and now I even have a stable 60 fps in menus and a bit less (but still plenty!) ingame.

I apologize for having not posted more details. Thanks for the quick help though!

Glad we got it sorted out so quickly, and I hope your post will help other users with the same problem as well.
If you want even better performance you should turn off AA.

Thanx for the answer ! (although it's a pretty bad news since it basically makes games unplayable Undecided)

Well it's annoying, but i've only had this problem pop up in a few levels, maybe like 5 or 6 in the whole game. I wouldn't consider it unplayable.

Pointing someone to an ancient build that's probably very broken with most current games is not the way to go. The FPS limiter (or counter, I don't know) was broken in 5195, so any revision before that will work. I personally use 5194 currently and it has a fully functional FPS limiter with Mario Wii.

Noted. I thought it was broken way before that.

Hi I had the same problem with NSMB as you with the RC release as you. I'm using the 5206 svn build now with the same settings I had before and it run flawlessly, world 1 is even faster now. Big Grin Hope this helps we have a similar setup

C2D E8500 @ 3.1 ghz (dont care to overclock either lol)
ASUS Dark Knight HD4870 1 GB (overclocked a little, game runs with same fps almost w/o overclocking)
4GB DDR2 OCZ RAM

60 fps constant Big Grin
