Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Full Version: Games which hang / freeze / crash / don't boot at all
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Gathered here are all those games which don't boot, freeze, crash, randomly or at specific spots.

Since it is important that only games are reported which actually have critical parts emulation-wise and random crashes or other problems with the emulator itself might lead to false reports, I will normally add games only if two seperate users report/confirm that there is a consistent issue (or if I trust the reporter's judgement, like e.g. a dev).

Also, please tell me if you know that one of those games on the list has been fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Medabots Infinity (GC)
(used to work with Alternate RFI, but option is no longer available)

- Summoner: A Goddess Reborn (GC)
(randomly crashes with HLE audio, use LLE instead. Also, the game randomly freezes in cutscenes like the Palace of Halassar or Entres of Sepulchre. Reducing the CPU clock to 10% (47Hz) seemed to resolve the issue. Save before cutscenes and reduce the CPU clock. It's very inconvenient but the only way to play with this problem. Alternately use a much earlier build of Dolphin; r7670 works flawlessly, no lagging or crashes.)

- Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (GC)
(When you load a custom graphic (user-made emblem) and head back to Create a Skater to apply it onto your character, the game crashes, and an endless string of error messages from the emulator follows;
workaround: Choose the clothing you want to place a custom emblem on, select "Custom graphic", back out, go to Create a Graphic and load your custom one, then save your game from the Options menu.)

- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii)
(issue: When loading rebirth (1)'s mission, the game will sometimes crash. For some users, setting the Emulated CPU Clock to **exactly** 6% before the time it would crash will work around it, usually during the cutscene. The crash seems related to the number of characters or having certain unlocked, as a save with 68 characters unlocked does not crash in Dolphin, but after unlocking Renning, the crash does happen. )

- Toy Story 3 (Wii)
(disabling panic handlers gets around errors on start, but the game still doesn't seem to run in a stable manner)

- Heavy Fire: Special Operations (WiiWare)
(freezes with black screen after wiimote screen)

GC - Mario Golf [NTSC] is another "black screen" game. PAL apparantly runs fine.

Might want to throw in the word "Overkill" for the HOD there so as not to get it confused with the other HOD game which actually does run.
Add Tales of Graces to the list. Although it will start on software render mode (but that is of course completely unplayable. Tongue )
Mario games you mentioned run on previous revisions and, maybe on latest (with FIFO BP fixing)
@ nosound97: Which Mario games? Power Tennis Wii doesn't work for me, still not with latest r4698.
you said the fixed one of those game{Toy Story Mania}
so it seems that the developers trying to fix the rest of the black-Screen games?
You said that Mario Power tennis is running but at least for me the GC version crashes at the intro. You use pal or ntsc?

Edit: Ok, it runs only using opengl?

Edit 2: Ok, It runs also in d3d if I disable efb acces lol

The game looks glitched with both plugins.
