Tried rev 5870 with all those settings, same results (obviously using the x64 built). Guess I have no hope with my rig, and try living with it and hope it's finishable... Anyway thanks, or if someone has more suggestions I will be very grateful.
EFB scale = 1 is not needed anymore in recent builds, NeoBrain fixed it, no more black screen...have fun playing this game in HD Smile
which black screens were fixed? The only one I know of is the grand-star ones.

Until now you couldn't play SMG2 in a high resolution and/or with a high EFB scale and/or with SSAA, otherwise your screen would turn black every time the map screen opened or in the intro when Bowser comes and some other scenes (also some bosses in SMG1, btw). That has now been fixed.

If I put EFB scale from 1x back to auto my FPS drops from solid 60 to 45, and doesn't look any different.
Also have to run 4x AA in SMG2 as switching to 9x in this game produces some occasional screen artifacting at times.

(edit) - Just tried 2x and seems to be working as good as 1x(solid 60 ) but colours look a little richer I think and image is ever so slightly sharper.
But if I put it to 3x frame rate drops by 20fps. So good balance for me is running 1920x1080, efb 2x , 4x AA for SMG2 due to artifacting at 9X.
Other games though seem to run fine at 9x.

Hm, EFB scale x3 works with fine FPS for me and looks good...x1 looks pretty low res. SSAA is more of a performance hit than EFB scale x3 and doesn't really look better. Would be great to have EFB scale x3 and SSAA x2; I hope they re-include it soon.
Didn't there used to be a SSAA 1.5x or something?
But yeah, would be nice to have some better SSAA options, off, 4x and 9x leaves something to be desired.

Duuuuude, freaky graphics glitches.
Harmless though, they seem to occur depending on the camera angle.

huh? are they from the recent build? you should let NeoBrain know in that case.
I think I also read something about angle-dependent glitches in ZWW.
