Sorry if this issue has already been reported, but I have a problem with the game crashing at a specific point, late in the game.

In the Palace of Shadow inside Riddle Tower, after I put in the Star Key, and the 8 palace keys, the cut-scene where the orrery spins around will activate for about 5 seconds, and then it crashes my desktop completely.

Luckily, the save file is intact, and nothing seems to corrupt that. I then made a backup copy of my save just in case.

Anybody know what's going on, or have a solution for this? I could provide logs, I just don't know how to debug this exactly. :p

okay couldn't find any threads on this issue, but i added the ar code to have all members rank 2 and once i added that my party members dont show up by my side and i cant use their abilities and whenever i talk to someone dialogue completely skips and i see nothing. I reloaded an old save where that code wasnt added and i removed the code as well but issue persists. Any help id appreciated Sad

On the Excess Express, day 2, just after catching Zip and the screen fades out, I'm getting Invalid Read errors prompted by the game crashing, and on occasion no error dialogue but a perpetual black screen. Anyone else experiencing this? I've tried disabling custom textures, changing rederers (OpenGL, DX12, Vulkan), tried with internal resolution set to Native and disabled AA/AF. Verified my game disc dump and it checks out.

Edit: Got through the scene by enabling MMU and disabling all the Widescreen and Hard Mode codes.

Hello May, could you please help me find a way to reset HP on Paper Mario Thousand Year Door? I accidentally enabled max health and now my save states and saved game are stuck with max HP. Can you or point me to someone who can reset the hp to either something like 20,30,40 or disable this code? It seems to be baked into my save. I await your response, thank you

paperissue

Hi

so I am playing Paper Mario 2 with the dolphin emulator on my PC. While playing I got sometimes graphic issues and fps drops that didn't really bother me. However, after finishing chapter 6 I have to go to the gold bob-omb in Poshley Heights. I need to go by train and whenever I arrive at Rogueport the game gets severe graphic issues. As soon as I talk with the Toad to leave the place, the game always freezes and I can't escape the speech bubble. This way, I won't be able to finish the game. My dolphin's version is V 5.0. While researching people talk about bad dumps and I assume I got such one. My MD5 is c164b2ba5d1ce74c0abf4c9dc82d7b1f. I didn't find this code anywhere else. So what can I do to fix this problem?

EDIT: Some years ago I have already played and finished the game with the same file. As far as I remember, there weren't these issues. I can't really explain it...
Have you tried the latest Dolphin 5.0 dev build? It might help.

Dolphin used to be more inaccurate in the past, so broken games may have not crashed when they should have. Or over the years of computer updates/upgrades your file got damaged. The best way to fix this would be to re-rip the game disc.

Thx dude! By using Dolphin V 5.0-12247 I was able to pass the train section. Now I can finally finish the game before Paper Mario for switch will be released.

If you use the Ishiiruka builds instead of master, you need to place this file inside the "ShaderFixes" folder instead of the one that is already inside:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/b08ciwzc90ju3c...e.txt?dl=0

Inside those shader files (ending in ".txt") you'll find this line:

r1.x = dot(cproj[0].xyzw, r0.xyzw)*2;

I multiplied the length of the black bars by 2 just to be sure. If instead of "2" you use "0", the black bars will be disabled.

The files in the "ShaderFixes" folder can affect other games. Remember to rename or delete the folder if you play other games.

The vertical black bars at the sides are just the effect of the accurate aspect ratio correction of Dolphin.

--Which folder do you place the files in exactly? In "/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Dolphin?" Or a subfolder within that? Because I placed it there and it didn't seem to work. Any suggestions? Thx in advance. Smile
