Thank you for this post for n00bs like me.

I have a i7 2.2GHz quad core macbook pro with 8GB ram and AMD Radeon 6750M w/ 1GB. My machine is suitable for running this.

I only want to get Dolphin for Super Mario Galaxy 2. Love that game and would love to have it on my laptop when I travel.

Question is whether I can use a Keyboard for this, as I don't want to carry around a WiiMote with at all times. If somebody could kindly confirm that, it would be super helpful! Thank you.

I don't think that would work well with a game like SMG2, if you would have said Super Paper Mario then I would have said yes.
SMG2 is more or less dependent on a Wiimote to function properly, at least that's what I think.

HELP!!! I try to play Animal Crossing City Folk as a Wii rom and when the Wiimote warning screen appears, it won't allow me to press any buttons. Yes, i've tried configurating all the Wiimote controls, but the only pad i seem to be allowed to play is the Gamecube pad, i have Paper Mario Thousand Year Door as well, it works perfectly fine with controls. When i wait for awhile, the warning screen finally disappears. When the title appears it says "Press A" and i try to but nothing happens. It's not the rom's problem, i've downloaded 2 copys of the same game, same result. Perhaps it's only the Wii games, that's the only Wii game i've tried. I haven't found ANY solutions online, am i the only one with this problem? I have an i3 processor Gateway laptop with ATI HD Mobility Radeon 5650 and DirectX 11 so there shouldn't be any problem there.
When I try to download the new version on DirectX it says failed, and it wants me to check some log thing.
I noticed on the 1st page there's no mention of RAM. I imagine that a 4x boost in DDR3 RAM would have some effect.... right?

Hello guys... I'm pretty new with this emulator, and I have a few questions... Smile

1). in Configuration -> CPU Emulator, what's the difference between using JIT and JIT JL Experimental Recompiler..? What's the advantage of Lock Threads to Cores ?

2.1). When I played Tales of Symphonia : Knight of Ratatosk (also known as Dawn of New World or simply ToS 2), undubbed version, Dolphin randomly closed down in-game.... Not only the external window, but also the main window (which contains the toolbars) .... Even with Panic Handler turned on, it didn't give me any message... just closed down....
I'm using Dolphin 3.0 r7654 x64 ... Is there something wrong in my configurations ?

2.2). I'm using emulated Wiimote + ps2 joystick ... Starting a new game or loading a saved game is fine, but when I load a SaveState, the external window will freeze (though sound can still be heard)... Is there a fix for this ?

3). In Cheat Manager, using memory scanning (just like in Cheat Engine), I managed to find 2 address... When I click "build AR code", why is it just one address for 1 AR code ? (so there are 2 AR codes)
Can't we make a single AR code consisting of several addresses at once....?

4). Currently I'm taking a final assignment in my study, and planning to make a "mouse" for Windows on Android Smartphone.... I'm thinking about using Bluetooth as its interface to Windows, and then Windows will detect it as a mouse. The touchscreen on that phone will be used as a touchpad...
Seeing as how dolphin team has successfully used Bluetooth to connect Wiimote into dolphin program, could someone from the Dev team please give some general ideas on how using a Bluetooth device as an interface in Windows..? For instance, as how data is transferred, whether we have to use some API or else..?

Thanks.

CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM (2.00GHz - 2.90GHz)
RAM: 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 (1333MHz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1GB GDDR3

Laptop CPU's are heavily concerned with battery life and not performance. On that i7, Dolphin will run at 2.8Ghz Turbo (dual core mode). This is fine for some games, but some very heavy games (Punch Out! in my testing) will lag. The graphics are fine, it's he CPU. If you can get the next model i7 (2.2Ghz) I would suggest if your interest is Wii games. If GameCube games, you are fine Smile

Thanks for the guide. It really did help get me through the initial learning curve. Much appreciated Smile

I bought a new iMac (2.7ghz i5 quad core, 4GB of ram, Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB)
Anyone have any good settings I can try to get better performance with wii games? I checked the performance guide but didn't have much luck. NSMB runs at a snails pace, while SSBB works pretty well. Running the newest build from the download page.

Did you uncheck "EFB copies" > "RAM"?
