Hi!

I've used Dolphin before on Windows and I love being able to play it, but I just recently received a lower-end computer and I was forced to use Ubuntu 11.04 Server because of system limitations. I managed to install the official nVidia driver for the card thats in the box and I have LXDE working, but I still want to use this rig as an impromptu Gamecube. I tried looking on the download link on the Dolphin site but I can't find the Tarball for the Linux/Unix source code. I did find the source on the development site but I'm not exactly sure how to go about getting it off the site. Any help would be appreciated. I just need the source, I can slum through going through the dependencies on my own.
NM... Found the instructs.

Did you uncheck "EFB copies" > "RAM"?

Thanks that worked wonders. I don't know why I didn't try that before, I remember turning that off in older versions of dolphin.

Is that ok to be off for most games?
Also, there are some missing textures in games like SSBB - no big deal, but is there an option that can be switched on to bring them back?

This emulator is absolutely amazing!

Big GrinHi I have been using dolphin for about a 1nhalf -2 years , since I got my laptop. I wanted anyone who was looking , to know that I have an intel graphics set , and it is roughly an nvidia 8800 based on all of my PC game requirements.

( it is an HP G72 b60 US)
INTEL QUADRO 2.4 Ghz. 4 Gb ram shared w/ video so up to 2gb ram for video
intel HD graphics win 7 -64 bit
lightscribe and 500 gb scsi HDD)

not the greatest , but it runs alice 2 , dead space 1& 2 ,oblivion, Hunted ,tomb raider doom3 quake 4, left 4 dead underworld, mirrors edge and many more, 2 games that run like crap are dead rising 2 and ummm... oh yeah Assassins creed. not really sure why?

Anyways I just wanted to point out or let anyone know , who thinks that they cant run dolphin well or not at all on these Intel Gpu's , that is Bullsh$# it doesn't run everything well, but here is a little list that does do well for people on a budget or just want a mobile wii/cube.

ALL OF THESE PLAY 70% to FULLSPEED on INTEL GRAPHICS G72 laptop and many more games im sure

sanitys requiem- perfect
Mario sunshine - perfect
luigis mansion -perfect
pikmin 1 &2 perfect over
Zelda windwaker
Zelda twilight princess(Gc)
simpsons hit and run
lord of the rings the two towers
wii sonic 4
wii NSMB
wii Donkey Kong country returns
Mortal Kombat deception
robotech
guantlet dark legacy
bloodrayne
Alien hominid
Sonic Heroes
Resident evil 4
ed ,edd &eddy
animaniacs
wii castlevania fighter

Okay , those are just the ones i keep on my laptop , that run well and are highly playable.
Now I looked through the site , and havent found anything on this and maybe someone will know (or mock me for not knowing?)
I have been running versions since late r4k -r5k revisions. And the only one that runs great for me is R7607 from a few months ago, everything after has slowly gotten worse. is there a reason ? everything after it is LITERALLY 20%-30% slower no matter what settings i put. well if anyone knows? or maybe it might help with a new recompile? I thought I would try and give a little feedback. Oh! BTW thank you guys for all of your kickass work. I hope you all get really great paying jobs and prestige for all of your hard work! . I really appreciate being able to play my not so old, but beloved games. -James 8)

Hey guys, first post.. so warning, noob question incoming! I'm just now downloading Dolphin (hoping to get the most out of Skyward Sword!), but I'm not sure if my computer is going to be able to run it well... I'm pretty illiterate to this stuff (like I said noob question!). Anyways my stats:
Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB
I haven't had a chance to rip my game discs yet so I haven't tried it, but does that look ok? Anything in particular I need to watch out for?

It's alright, though the clock speed is a bit low for your CPU.Is it a laptop or desktop?

Desktop (iMac i5 27" to be precise). I've been thinking about adding more ram (mainly because I often run several modeling and painting programs at once, plus its so cheap these days), but I'm guessing that wouldn't really make much difference due to the low GHz?

Yes, unless you have less than 2GB of RAM it shouldn't make much of a difference.
