I want to enjoy games better on mine, it's too slow for me
Perhaps we should list the CPUs that do not support SSE2 and therefore cannot run dolphin, even at subpar speeds.

Somebody was hoping to run dolphin on his athlon xp (3200+.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2#CPUs_supporting_SSE2
"AMD CPUs prior to Athlon 64, including all Socket A-based CPUs" (do not support SSE2) - That means athlon XP, Duron, Sempron, and Athlon MP.

Hello all,

I have an Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family graphics card- the kind Dolphin doesn't like because it apparently doesn't support OpenGL2.x completely.

However, I updated the driver, and I checked compatibility with openglex and it says that my computer and the graphics card now fully supports 2.0- where before the updtate, it could only do 1.5. Dolphin still doesn't work, though. So my question is this- even if the program says it can support 2.0, am I still doomed to not use Dolphin because I have an Intel card?

I'm just a bit confused because I thought the only problem with Intel cards was their lack of support for OpenGL 2, and now that I have that support, I don't know why it doesn't work.

Anyways, if it is the case, I have another question- how expensive would it be to buy/replace my current graphics card with one that could run Dolphin? Chances are I probably won't even buy one, but it'd be good to know.

Thanks in advance.

well what dolphin asks for is OpenGL 2.1 (and the Intel IGPs only support up to OpenGL 2.0) Smile

Ahhh, it's 2.1. Didn't realize that... damn, so close! Tongue

Thanks for your help.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have an estimate to how expensive it would be to buy/replace my graphics card with one that can support 2.1?

a geforce 7300 would work. They cost around 50 bucks

I was just wondering if these specs were good enough to run the Wii emulator?

well your video card won't work with the OpenGL plugin, but it will work with the old Dx9 plugin. Smile (but maybe not fullspeed)
Can dolphin runs in my laptop?
How many FPS in wii games like SSBB, for example?
Ps.: i'm thinking to run games in MINIMUM, without sound, with the minimum resolution, puting off all the graphics "optinal" things (disable material light, fog, destination alpha). And of course enable idle skkiping, native resolution, dual core, etc.
Will put my windown in the minimum resolution and 16 bits too

well you video card won't even work with the OpenGL plugin (so just one piece that is below required) Smile, but you can use the old dx9 plugin (in my sig)
