My specs are in my signature.
I wonder why so many games work SOOOO slow for me???HuhSad
PSBig Grinoes it speed up dolphin if I set the affinity to 2 cores?
In case I didn't explain myself correctly.

Geforce 7900GTX + 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo
or
Geforce 7900GTX + 3.0Ghz Core 2 Quad
or
Geforce 7900GTX + 3.0Ghz i7 940 quad

or same as above but with an extra 7900GTX?

Will I get that extra boost with dual 7900GTXs? Forget about the cost of getting a second GPU. Will it really make a difference?

That is strange, your specs are similar to mine, but most games runs fine for me, are you sure you are using the right settings for each games?
ok i got a rare triple core - but - i think with 2 work it to - so he can make a support for a triple core to i think

with 2x your gfx card you will not recieve any speedup.
even a geforce 6 is fast enough for dolphin Tongue
the only thing that helps is: FAST cpu Wink

core i7 is wasted money in this case. (only dualcore support)
better use a core2duo e8500 or faster (very fast dualcore) or a phenomIIx3 720 black edition. (tripplecore has a little speed increase over a dualcore imo)

at the moment you will NOT recieve 60fps ingame in most games with sound
btw: what would you do if a game runs standard at 30fps on real hardware? play the game at 2x speed? xD

I need 60fps because I'll be using an HMD. Since stereoscopic rendering needs approx twice the frames (it's not an exact science, sometimes you need less, but it's better to have at least 60). Rendering at 60fps will give me about 30 per eye. With only 30fps, I would be playing at 15fps.

About the quad cores, I wouldn't be happy if a month or two after buying a fast dual core, a new build comes out which takes advantage of the extra cores.

that will never happen, at the most dolphin could use 3 cores, and even then it wouldnt speed things up much.

Out of curiosity... why is that?

if im not mistaken, when enabling dual core dolphin splits the cpu into one core, and the gpu and dsp into another core. the audio could be split up into a 3rd core, but it wouldnt make much of a difference because the audio doesnt use much processing power.
but it will ad some fps i think
