That's not very helpful Smile

Lots of people are getting perfect performance with SSBM on low-ish end hardware, so the issue isn't about the emulator being incomplete, it's more likely to be about settings, libraries, drivers and incompatibilities between these.

I know solution. Run Windows version on Windows, with your CPU you won't get decent speed running two OS

Wine doesn't run a second OS, it intercepts OS calls and routes them to the appropriate Linux OS functions, it is often *very* close speed wise to the application running on Windows, and in some cases actually even faster due to some Linux OS functions being more efficient than their Windows counterparts.

I've since tweaked my settings and am getting about 45fps and normal game speed (1 second on game timer = 1 real second) so the problem wasn't Wine it was that the default settings weren't ideal for this game.

I'll post my settings when I get a chance (they're on another computer and I'm working at the moment).
But that OS calls interpreter takes some of the CPU, and since Dolhpin is mostly CPU based...

When playing single player classic mode, the video just kind of freezes on match 8 ( the 1 vs 10 fight) It shows part of the vs screen and then just stops updating the video, but I can still hear the game going. any help would be much appreciated.

I have this exact same problem. I don't remember it happening in older revisions.
The sound randomly drops out whenever it feels like it, anyone know how to fix it?

If by sound you mean music then it's normal, not fix yet
If by sound you mean effects then explain sum more

Sorry, I ment music.. But if its a common problem then its no sweat!
I see now that I was way to vague on the details!

Don't be sorry, things happen.
Hello!

I am a new user of Dolphin and for now I am astounished by the emulators speed and compatibility.

I have a question regarding Super Smash Brothers Melee though. I am able to play the game at full speed most of the time, but in some stages, particulary "Fountain of Dreams" I notice a FPS drop to about 36-39 with 4 characters and on Rainbow Ride my FPS drops to about 40 My specs are as follows:

Intel Pentium Quad 9400 @ 2,66Ghz
Nvidea Geforce 9800 GT
4 GB RAM

Since in this thread it says that even older CPU can run this game @ full speed, I am wondering if that FPS drop is normal. I think I have a decent gaming rig so I wonder whjat could I do to increase the games performance.

Cheers!

Garr

Same happens to me and Fountain of Dreams with 4 is slow even on the console.

Since my question wasn't answered:
Is a 5~10 seconds freeze common when the game tries to save? If not, any idea how to fix that?
