EPIC FAIL for me. But he was not fair-play. His specs were in "Bio" and I read only the first lines Dodgy

With LLE, it stutters all the time. So neither option works Sad

You can always try the VBeam Trick for LLE audio. It won't let you get fullspeed with LLE, but it should prevent the audio from stuttering.

Yeah, tried that and it didn't make much difference. Thanks for helping, though, unlike other people who think that they can put someone down by spounting EPIC FAIL at someone's specs. Those are machines, guys, just machines.

Any word by the developers on making HLE, you know, now suck on 70% of games? I guess I really should upgrade my rig in order to get good SOUND?
Yeah, sometimes some systems are too weak to work even with the VBeam Trick. I guess there's a threshold, but it's not been tested extensively.

HLE audio could be worked on to get better audio, but there's time and effort being spent on other areas. HLE audio isn't exactly imperative at the moment since it works well enough for most games, and LLE audio solves most of the sound issues anyway.

You're better off getting a better machine than waiting for the devs to move on this (they might not ever do something about it). You have to upgrade your computer someday, eventually, might as well make sure it can do Dolphin with LLE audio. Smile

Also, LordVador was doing an Epic Fail for himself. He didn't see your specs the first time he looked at you profile. No one's making fun of your rig. Now, if you had a Pentium 4... Wink

Now, what kind of specs would I need to run LLE smoothly? I'm assuming I'd have to overclock too? It's times like these I wish I were more tech-savvy...
Yep, overclocking would help. But note, some games need an overclocked Intel processor if LLE is enabled.

@Shonumi : thanks for rectifying

It's common to advise i5 2500K/i5 3570K these days

The VBeam trick helps, if you want good sound, but if your game doesn't run at full spead even without the VBeam, your game will be unstable. What I mean is that Mario will be running fast, while his legs are moving slowly. You can run faster than enemies, but battles will be REALLY fast. So fast that you need good reflexes to get used to them. The opening is slow. Sometimes it's good, but if you want stability, don't check it.

Snark

First post here. I need help. Let me know how many things I'm doing wrong:

1. When I try to play Paper Mario TTYD, it tells me my memory card is corrupted. Can't do anything except watch the first video and then see the memory card error message.
2. I see on the wiki page for this game that 3.0 causes crashes for this game. Which revision should I try instead? For example, is 3.0-188 ok?

Thanks all.
