OK. This is a few update from me.
About the punnies disappearing problem, i found a little gap. Each time you blow punnies with Flurrie ability - you have approximately 4-5 seconds before they disappear. So when Mario trapped in a cage with punnies and need to release them (this case, you already have super boots), make sure before you blew them down the hole, you are standing close enough to punny orb square light - so when the punnies go through the hole, your punnies counter will calculate, that means Mario already release them.
Just like I said before - you only have approximately 4-5 seconds before they disappear, so what you must do is blew them (1 second or less) and then quick pick them up, go back to the cage through the pipe, blew the rest, and pick them, repeat this move till you release all the punnies.

This trick works for me. And I'm using Dolphin 2.0 for this trick. Smile

Try using rev3207 - I can pass this scene by using it.
NOTE: after all the punnies released form the cage - FPS will drop dramatically.

Have a nice try. Smile

Chapter 5 is one of the big problem in Paper Mario TTYD after Punnies problem in Chapter 2. Try using another rev of Dolphin to pass this issue.

Oxtiz,

I can pass this scene by using Dolphin v2.0. - After you blow up a hoke in the wall - your FPS will drop till 5-10 (yes this happen to me too). It'll affect the toads movement - like a rapper (move forward and backward) - just ignore it. All you need is to be patient - somehow all the toads will leave the caves and dialog box will appear. "Press A" - then wait for the scene for Frankie and Francesca leaving (their move will be like a rapper too). Just ignore it - and wait till another dialog appear. After you pass this scene, the FPS will back to normal.

How did you pass the next hole part when you have to blow the punies to the wooden stump? After I've blowed them down and I jump in, they're almost all disappeared.

This is what I do to pass the scenario. I'm using Dolphin V2.0. Before you blow the punnies, please make sure there you already create the hole. :p
Put Punny orb and all punnies will gather in the square - right? Now move mario near the square - close enough. As I say in my previous post - you approximately have 4-5 seconds before they disappear, blow them for 1-2 second, pick the punny orb - and hurry down the hole (without using jump - just walk to the hole).

And one more thing before you blow your punnies - please make sure you already clear the path after you enter the pipe). Trust me - you don't wanna redo this scenario again.

Have a nice try - and Good luck. Smile

About the game (IGN.com)
GameCube sequel to the unique 2.5D role-playing game for N64. Known as Paper Mario RPG in Japan (the original was called Mario Story), Paper Mario 2 combines turn-based battles with action elements. You select commands from a command ring atop your characters' heads, such as jumping or swinging a hammer, then have to time yourself just right to defend or pull off maximum damage. Throughout their adventure, Mario and friends find help in a few items and places. You can heal your party at an inn and purchase items at a shop, collect coins by defeating enemies, and buy new special abilities in a badge shop. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door also features a lot of different mini games, such as a quiz show, a lottery, or the ability to control Bowser in a sides-crolling action sequence.

Emulation Status & Speed
  • Issues:
  • There are a few little graphical bugs, for instance the last screenshot I took

    Emulation Speed
  • As it's not that demanding, it runs at full speed (Rig in Signature)

Additional Information
Nothing to mention here. As I said, a few graphical glitches but that's it.
Very playable at wonderful speed.

This is the best game and as nice as old mario we were play in video games. It runs perfectly without any problem. If somebody having some problem regarding this game then he should check the system settings and game settings. Because this game doesn't have any bug.
