Early 2014 I put together my first desktop PC aimed at gaming, and emulators. It was a beast, the best of the best, and when I first launched Dolphin, which I had already started playing with on my crappy laptop, I got frame drops coupled with stuttering. I spent 3 years racking my brain, searching on forums what the problem was. Was my CPU not fast enough ? Impossible… GPU ? Impossible ?
I didn't know what that stuttering was, I couldn’t put a name on it.

It's only in April 2017, when I changed CPU (that I thought would finally solve this issue) that I snapped. IT WAS THE SAME
I spent hours that night searching online, and then finally, I found it : "shader cache stuttering".
I quickly found out about Ishiiruka-Dolphin afterwards, and it was a revelation.
I refused to complete a game in 3 years because of that shader cache stuttering, I only played casually some games, playing around with settings, never more than an hour. I completed a game for the first time 2 months ago on Ishirruka-Dolphin with async shaders. Even after I surrendered to the dark side of emulation, I still followed the master branch very closely, like always, and found out about ubershaders around the same time as Ishiiruka-Dolphin.

So congratulations guys, and a huge THANK YOU
You made it

P.S. : here, I believe you meant "Despite being around 90% complete, the last 10% still remained to be done, including some key features"

AFAICT the output indeed is exactly the same for both...

Update your video driver? What game? What region of the game (Japan, USA, Australia, Europe, China)?

I can't be the only one who thinks that this is worthy of a Dolphin 6.0 release, right? Or at least a 5.1.

The only way a next stable would be released is if all the regressions from 5.0 were fixed. And the new QT interface is finished. And Vulkan is stabilized more. And Hybrid XFB is finished. etc, etc etc........

So now both the CPU and the GPU requirements in the Dolphin FAQ are outdated. Tongue

(maybe the FAQ writers are just waiting to see how laptops with Ryzen APUs perform before updating it?)
Dolphin 5.0 CPU benchmark

CPU: Pentium G3258 @ 4.5GHz 1.24v
GPU: Intel integrated
RAM: 4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ DDR3-1600
