Well there's a lot of developers, 53 or more, I'm not sure how many of those developers visit the forum or have accounts on the forum. I know Lord Mark has an account on the forum, he is known as RetroX, not sure about nakee though.

Well, I wouldn't say there are 53 devs, most people listed on the Google Code page were just one-time commiters or something. At max, there's 25 devs who are still committing stuff (and even fewer who do this regularly and not just every few months).
Out of these fewer than 25 devs, many don't look at the forums or only rarely. Not to offend anyone, but I guess some of them are just tired of stupid questions and all the spammers :/ FWIW, most development-related discussions happen on IRC or Google Code anyway. Anyway, at least I obviously do quite often take a quick look at the forums 07-27-2010, 03:17 AM
Well if spammers are an issue, I'd be glad to help moderate, ector even asked me if I was interested in moderating but I declined at the time. Thanks for clearing that up though, I wasn't sure how many of them were active committers. I'll just await for ector to log in and reply to my message, perhaps I will find out what is wrong with the current looping code and I hope to gain some ideas and insight as to how the current looping code can be fixed. I've gotten close enough to solving the issue, while the music lasts longer now, in SMG2 it still stops after a while. I managed to get AFC audio to loop more than once in ZTP, but also messed up some sounds in Windwaker.

Well, good luck anyway. I find it quite amazing how much effort you're putting in this and how far you've come, given that you don't know that much about programming as the "real" DSP devs

Sorry for the pointless post. I don't know much about dsp so I don't really have anything useful and relevant to say. All I can say is don't stop doing this kind of stuff. Both this and the work your doing/did on the twilight princess hyrule field slowdown issue. This is truly amazing. This is how we fix things in the real world.

It's just too bad that I don't know jack about coding, otherwise I would be making progress. I contacted ector for ideas and suggestions, hoping he would suggest some things for me to try and I could experiment with the code a bit. I dug into the code, hoping I could learn something, and I have learned, to a certain extent. I really need to go back to college and finish my computer science degree instead of being a lazy bum and dropping out just because I didn't feel like doing all the work that was involved. 07-27-2010, 04:03 AM
Now that you say it, I don't want to criticize the moderators, but the percentage of shitty threads has risen quite a bit in the last few months...
There's so many newbies who just open the 54363754356356th new thread to ask what config they should use for SMG2, etc... I think some things should be changed in the forum structure as well as on the official Dolphin homepage, but both don't seem to get much love at the moment...

Yeah, that's why I created the faq in the site feedback section, because too many new members creating threads in the wrong sections. There is a lot of garbage posts/threads that should be cleaned, mostly spam but not exclusively limited to spam. I would also like to see the homepage receive some love, a more professional look for the homepage. The forum could use a custom theme or at least something different than the plain default theme, that will make the forum stand out a bit more.
Anyways lets not drift off topic here, this type of feedback would be best suited to a thread in the site feedback section. 07-27-2010, 01:07 PM

Yeah I didn't want to say anything about it either but it really has gotten out of hand. Basically every single forum except delfino plaza is now functioning as an extension of the support forum. But since the mods aren't enforcing it people are just posting wherever they want no matter where it actually belongs. Yeah someone should make one so we can continue this discussion there and not become hypocrites .
