IMPORTANT UPDATE (02/09/20) Today marks the release of my new Dolphin utility: Phazon UI. Dynamic user interfaces for Metroid Prime Trilogy can now be generated with Phazon! As such, this project has officially been rolled into Phazon UI and will no longer receive updates or bug fixes. Please check out the Phazon UI Dolphin post or the Phazon UI Discord for more information.

With the recent release of the Metroid Prime Trilogy upscale by Malkierian, I took it upon myself to create a set of keyboard/mouse UI icons for the games. All three Metroid Prime games have been tested, and work without any major issues.

The KBM UI pack comes with your choice of a Metroid Prime font or a sleeker Orbitron font.

Controls

WASD (nunchuck stick): strafing, map navigation
Left Mouse (wiimote A): primary weapon fire, accept, interact
Right Mouse (wiimote dpad down): rockets
Mouse Wheel Up/Down (motion controls: twist, tilt, swing, IR forward/back): grapple beam cast/pull, lock twisting, removing energy cells, push/pull handles
X and C (motion controls: twist): alternate twist controls
Mouse Wheel Up (motion controls: flick): spring ball
1 (wiimote 1): open map, advance some dialogues/prompts
2 (wiimote 2): open log book and options
Q (wiimote -): visor selection, map zoom
E (wiimote +): beam selection (Metroid Prime 1 & 2), hypermode (Metroid Prime 3), map zoom
Z (motion controls: shake): shakes off Gandrayda/Metroid Hatcher (currently broken)
Shift (nunchuck Z): lock on, scan, pan map, spider ball
Ctrl (nunchuck C): morph ball
Space (wiimote B): jump, screw attack, ball boost, cancel/back

Known Issues
• Slightly overlapping mouse icons for darkburst + sunburst tutorials (Metroid Prime 2); this appears to be a game/emulator problem, not a custom UI problem
• Corruption scanner is difficult (Metroid Prime 3), but shouldn't be required
• Metroid Hatcher/Gandrayda "shake off" controls don't work (Metroid Prime 3)... no solution found, if anyone finds a fix please let me know!
• Includes a few redundant files to guarantee proper replacement when used in conjunction with the Metroid Prime Trilogy upscale by Malkierian; will work to remove these when a new version of the upscale pack comes out

Ohh, so you made the UI elements with Orbitron as the option. For a second I thought you had done some of the regular fonts and I was wondering how you did it so quickly XD.

*sigh* A fork of a fork.

They really made a mistake building their custom prime build off a fork, because Wii Remote controls were *just* overhauled in Dolphin, and it can't benefit from that at all. And that's not all users would be losing by going to that fork, they'd also be missing out on Hybrid XFB and other features extremely beneficial to Metroid Prime games. So um, not a good recommendation! Anyway, we have a rule against recommending forks, and it has some serious compromises compared to master, so... I'm just going to go ahead remove that link.

I don't disagree, but I didn't have anything to do with developing it. Ishiiruka itself is weirdly fetishized for something that seems to generally be worse than an up to date version of dolphin.

I've yet to find any combination of settings and configs on the current build of dolphin that makes metroid prime trilogy not awful when using a mouse as an emulated wiimote, unfortunately

they're already listed in the post

edit: both a controller config screenshot and ini have been added to the new build... again, MP3 is a work in progress and subject to change

edit 2: config screenshots have been removed for now, but configs for both dolphin and ishiiruka are now included

v1.0 is finally here!

there's been a ton of progress in the last week, and the pack is finally polished up and ready for release... check the revision history for more information on what's changed. And don't forget to check out the shiny new infographic in the control section

enjoy! The zip includes a controller config specifically made for that build, so make sure you use that... I beat the whole trilogy using it, and the only issue I ran into was not being able to shake off enemies in MP3
