The ancients are coming.  And they're coming in HD.

The cult classic returns, and it's looking the best it ever has.  Presenting a 4x DDS upscale pack for Eternal Darkness.  Primarily featuring Topaz Gigapixel upscaling, with a dash of Manga109, Waifu2x, and Photoshop where appropriate.  I've spent an absurd amount of time dumping, organizing, cleaning, upscaling, and post-processing these textures to make them look their very best.  And I'd say the results speak for themselves.  This is Eternal Darkness like you've never seen it: with clean, upscaled textures.  If you've been looking for an excuse to play through this masterpiece (either again or for the very first time), there's no time like the present.

Please note that the pack does not modify the controller buttons.  The Xbox One buttons you see in the comparison screenshots were created by Phazon UI.  Phazon can be used to create button prompts for pretty much any controller & keyboard/mouse bindings you can think up.  It currently supports Eternal Darkness, in addition to dozens of other Gamecube & Wii games.

Known Issues
Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
• 3 textures were not improved by any form of upscaling and were removed from the upscale pack
• Most shadow textures are dumped in small tiles that can not be easily worked with.  They are not included at present
• Green playthrough (Xel'lotath artifact) has not been completed yet.  Expect a few missing enemy texture sheets if you choose this path.
• Some Autopsy textures are not included at present
• Cutscenes are not included.

Unrelated to this HD pack, Eternal Darkness may have a few technical issues depending on your version of Dolphin and current settings. Please see the Eternal Darkness Dolphin Wiki page for troubleshooting info

Feel free to send me any missing textures and I will look into them.

Haven't looked through all the comparisons yet but very glad to see this game getting the updated textures. It's such a great game but the texture work is really rather weak (probably due to it being once a N64 game). Very nice!

Yes! Have't played this game since it first came out on Gamecube, it's a masterpiece but it's pretty dated, many thanks for this one!

yeah, I got the impression that some of the early design work was intended for N64 from some of the texture choices (A number of textures that would be individual textures in an average GC game were broken up into tiny tiles in a way that's consistent with a lot of N64 games). They also left in at least one texture sheet with N64 buttons

I wasn't lying last year when I said I was still working on it. It just took a little while

Great job. Let me suggest adding your own text to the letter instead of using the upscaler, since it wasn´t able to rebuild those low res letters.

I personally like the worn look but I'm also more of a purist.
