i got a problem with this, after Nintendo Logo and Dolby, and the Cloud xD just goes black screen, i tried revs from 32xx to 34xx

Okay, since something about revision 3300 we can finally load the second track. But now, either the players or the cars don't show up anymore*, I don't see any HUD at all and the screen is flickering somewhat.

*I don't really have a clue, but this could be an issue with a stencil buffer: when starting the mushroom cup and reaching the second track (peach beach) I only see the cars. However, when the camera is in a position, where the ("invisible") player characters are drawn in front of any water, one can see the shape of the characters in complete white. Similiar effects occur when the characters are drawn above any shadow or ? box.

I'm still trying out right now, perhaps I'll do a regression testing concerning this stuff.
My system's running openSUSE 11.1 on an ATI 3850 with fglrx 9.6 by the way (9.2 had the same problem though).

EDIT: Just completed the mushroom cup: on the congratulations screen, I can't see anything which has a 3D modell at all (apart from the track itself), even the letters one can select for the initials aren't shown...

EDIT2: After completing the mushroom cup and returning to the main menu, even the menus (which worked fine when starting the game) are screwed.

maybe a problem with the linux version ?

x64 on vista with Pal version works wonderful.


shadows DO have problems, but that can be removed by turning off EFB just before race starts or decreasing EFB Texture resolution in the sourcecode.
(better way)

Hm, nevermind, I think it's a driver bug. I'm quite sure I had already played this game on a linux box, but now I went back to rev 1200 and it still doesn't work, so it can only be something wrong with my GPU driver Undecided

you dont need the musicmod anymore, just use the latest rev 3499 and voila! mario kart double dash HAS sound! yey! still not perfect though Smile

Really? Nice, I'm gonna try it in a bit. What sound works?

I wonder what other games' sound works now Smile

EDIT: just tried it, cool, the intro sounds like it almost works. Now if only it wouldn't be static-y. Smile

cant config that.

it has some cracky sounds on the title screen.. no sound ingame for me and no music at all.
