3570K/3770K even hugely overclocked aren't enough to get constant full-speed in this game

I get constant full speed on my i5 3570K at stock clocks by checking "Skip EFB Access to CPU" The only effect it seems to disable in this particular game is the distance blur effects in sand ocean. I would definitely only recommend this on from a performance standpoint.

60 fps is easily possible, however ONLY if i have either Vsync/FL off, crashes or the shadow bug...
jmc47, what settings/revision did you use? 10-11-2013, 06:53 AM
I just used a post 4.0 -180 build; if possible, use OGL with a NVIDIA card to make things even faster with EFB2Texture. The only time shadows get glitched is if you open the graphics dialogue while the game is running.
Settings wise, I run F-Zero GX with default settings, maybe turn up the IR a bit, skip EFB access to CPU, and of course, my trusty vertex streaming hack <3. With that, I can run pretty much any track full speed, with 30 cars, etc. I think there may have been a slight bit of slowdown in the Plant Stages when the leaves generate, but that may have been back on my old i5 or in single core. 10-11-2013, 11:05 AM

Yes, it does one reset at the beginning when going to the menu until the shadercache is completely generated, then it's stable.
@ JMC47: Works great in R201, thx.
Edit: Well, not quite true. DualCore does not seem to work for me without it crashing in GP-Mode. It was actually the vertex streaming hack that made it faster, i thought DC was enabled. Can anyone try it with the following settings? Revision 4.0 201 64-bit game-specific properties: - dual core off - idle skipping on - mmu of - mmu speed hack on - synchr gpu thread off - speed up disc transfer rate on - dsp hle on - rest unspecified general: use JIT recompiler graphics settings: - opengl - vsync - scaled efb copy on - force texture filtering on - disable fog on - per pixel lightning off hacks: - skip efb access on - ignore format changes on - efb copies to texture - tc accuarcy fastest setting - ext. fb disable - cache display lists on -fast depth calc on - openmp tex dec on - vertex str. hack on - rest off Strange observation: When i play it and i don't have any sound turned on, i can hear the music of the original SNES game in my head. :o 10-12-2013, 05:12 AM
Quote:@ JMC47: Works great in R201, thx. Seriously, please don't do that. What you just wrote could be 4.0-201, 3.5-201, 3.0-201, or R201, from back in the SVN days. Use the 4.0-xxx system please.
