-Update-
I also included dolphin's original icon for comparison. (It's Right Below This).

This is sort of random-
But I downloaded the Dolphin 2.0 Mac OSX release of dolphin recently and noticed that the icon is sort of low quality... Undecided
So i figured I would make another one! Idea

So far, my favorite is this one.

Tell me what you think if you decide to use this one in place of the old one!!!
I also give Dolphin full permission to use this image in any upcoming releases if they so wish. (Although I doubt they will) ha-ha
All of my custom icons are included below!
The background is still a bit pixely. An svg could be made pretty easily.

I wasn't necessarily trying to recreate the Dolphin Icon, but mostly just make a higher-res image...

I could have left out the pixely stuff I suppose, but I decided to leave it in because whoever the original maker of the dolphin icon was must have wanted the pixillation to look like water or something.... Maybe.?

Here is the image without the water.
Ok... So I removed the water from one of the images, and removed the blur from another.
Both of these updated pictures have been added to the top post.

Better Yet?... Smile

I like them... alot

Haha, Of course you do.
Sleepy

Maybe I should branch out to new color schemes....
Like- PINK AND GREEN! haha
Looks interresting Smile

The problem with the OSX image was that I only had a 48x48 image to work from at best, most likely the reason why it turned out that way.
Apparently noone of the other devs has the original source of the icon. And from what I've heard, a guy named Nevada made it.

Keep em coming, and make sure the other devs get to see it (and comment on it!)

Oh... Well I did almost everything from scratch...
I don't have the original source either.

Basically, I found a "peace" mario pose and whited it out using photoshop - then added the gradient background and distorted it a little.
Finally the black border and viola!
haha-

So... I'm assuming you were the one who made the mac OSX dolphin image, right?
I'm REALLY sorry if I offended you in saying that it was low quality... Undecided

It actually looks great for only having a 48x48 image size to work with!
Shy

Anyway.....
So how would I, "Make Sure", that the other dev's get to see it?...
I don't know any of them, so how might I draw their attention...? ha
Things are coming along slowly!
I figured how to round the corners so it's a little easier on the eyes.

Tell me what you guys think-

Good improvements so far on the current icon.

I don't really like gradients so I made a simple icon without one.
I'm just throwing some ideas out there. Maybe someone could improve on it.

Here is an svg version click

Wow!
I REALLY like that one!
Haha, after what took me hours to create...
you topped me fairly simply! Smile

I think I agree with you on the no gradient idea.
But since we are on the topic of icon improvements... What if we added more of the program symbolism into the icon? Such as a wii/gamecube image in the background.

Kind of like this, but without the gradient maybe?

I'm just brainstorming///
So feel free to disagree.
