Hey there!

I recently purchased a new laptop with a i5-2430M which is up to 3.0ghz with turbo boost.
I think it's enough to play most games... And I don't attend to play at full resolution and 60fps...

The problem is about my graphic card (well there's 2 of them...) :
In my laptop I have 2 graphics card : an Intel HD graphics family and a Geforce GT555M with 2gb of memory.
And Dolphin just won't recognize my Geforce...
Games runs MOSTLY decently with the Intel's card but I think it could be better with my second graphic card.

See?

Any help... Please? Smile
Whoops... forgot the picture... Angry

Just because it doesn't list the Geforce GPU doesn't mean it's not using it. Unless you're positive it's not being used, just keep on playing.
Go to Nvidia site to update latest driver
Do as the attached file below

Btw , I update some info

If your "Current Clock" is lower than 600MHz , your GPU is in idle mode
Dolphin will display "Intel HD" if i use Direct3D11 backend though Dolphin is actually using Nvidia GPU

Quote:Nvidia 600 series is known for having idle issue with Dolphin (GPU clock speed is clocked at 200MHz when dolphin is runnning)
If your GPU have this problem , just pull "Texture Cache" slider (Dolphin - Graphic - Hack) between "safe" and "fast" or just set it to "safe" or use high settings to force that GPU out of idle state : 4x Internal Resolution , no AA , 16 AF

Click here if you're out of ideas . That method may help you (Scrolldown that thread to see)

And remember Do not select graphic adaptor via Dolphin ! You must leave it as default (integrated GPU - Intel HD)

Yup!
Works great now thanks a lot! Big Grin

I saw your other post .Try this :
_Dolphin - Directx9 back end
_Update to latest driver
_Click to battery icon , select "High Performance"
_Go to Nvidia Control Panel .If you added dolphin to the list "High Performance" but still not working then see the pic attachment

To verify if Dolphin is using Nvidia GPU or not :

When Nvidia GPU is used , the icon's color will change :

When Nvidia GPU is not used :

ok so this si basicaly necro bumping but people always nag on using the search function so here i am replying to this thread..

i have not quite a similar problem but il explain:

i7 2670
intel onboard / gt555m
6gb ram
optimus

when i select dx9 i get the nvidea card in the directory (and if i load a game it stays that way) but when i select dx 11 and play a game that requires it (starfox adventures for 1) it switches to intel onboard. is there a way to fix this?

i have selected in nvidea control panel that he must use the gt555m card to play dolphin but even that doesnt fix it...

any solutions?
dolphin.exe forced to use highperformance gpu?

yeah got that in the control panel but it still uses the intel card on dx11 (on dx9 it uses the nvidea card)
Just use Direct3D9 - Direct3D11 is slower as Direct3D9 Wink
