My wiimote will connect to bluetooth with no issues. I can use it to input buttons when set as "Emulated Wiimote" but it won't connect to Dolphin when set to "Real Wiimote". I've tried hitting 1 + 2 and hitting Refresh but it just keeps flashing and connects to bluetooth with the 3 lights to the right on and with Dolphin not able to use it. When I start a game it says "Wiimote 1 disconnected". What could I do to fix this so I can use the motion functions as a real wiimote? Using the latest version of Dolphin on Windows 10 x64.
Wiimote connects to bluetooth but not Dolphin

If it works with Emulated Wii Remote mode, I'm assuming you've installed some sort of program that lets you use Wii Remotes for general software, like GlovePIE. You should disable that program (if possible) or uninstall it.

Thank you for your response. I've uninstalled HID Wiimote and it stopped connecting as a gamepad now. However trying to connect with the typical 1 + 2 and click refresh with continuous scanning method and lights just continue to flash without connecting. I'm not sure why it's not working. I've read quite a few post and articles about it and I'm stumped.
If you want to use Real Wiimote, do not use HID Wiimote or even your OS level bluetooth. Unpair the Wii Remote from them, and delete/disable any software that connects to the Wii Remote. Start completely fresh! Then, starting fresh, open the controllers panel, and make sure you have Emulated Bluetooth selected with Real Wii Remote in slot 1. Now, at the same time press "Refresh" in the UI and either 1+2 (non-plus Wii Remote) or the Sync button (Wii Remote Pluses). The Wii Remote should vibrate when connected, and then you can play a game.
The reason for this is because OS level pairing will interfere with Dolphin's ability to connect with the Wii Remote. So just have nothing connected or set, and Dolphin will take care of it all itself. Unfortunately I have removed all software that was connecting it before and removed it from bluetooth devices and tried that method and it still just blinks with a split second pause in between flashes but never connects through Dolphin even when doing all of that. It is not a -TR. Could it be my bluetooth adaptor?

Our bluetooth requirements for Real Wii Remote are pretty ordinary, but it is possible. What is your bluetooth adapter specifically? Make and model?

I'll need to know the exact model if I'm going to see what your bluetooth adapter supports. Can you find it in Windows Settings > Devices? Or Device Manager?

Broadcom BCM20702 4.0. Hopefully that's correct. Thank you for taking the time to help me out.
Oh gods, that's the same bluetooth chip that was in my 2012 macbook pro. That system *never* worked with Wii Remotes reliably!
So my theory was that your bluetooth adapter didn't support Bluetooth 2.1 EDR mode, which Wii Remotes need. But the specs on adapters I found with that chipset say it supports 2.1 EDR, so I guess that's wrong? But it certainly seems like that chipset is tempermental. Not only is there my experience with the little demon, but when googling "Broadcom BCM20702 4.0", the very first result was a thread here about it not working in Dolphin. Yea I think that adapter is just kind of junk. :/ So the only other thing to try is to give the adapter line of sight. Bluetooth adapters, especially little small ones, tend to have very weak antennas that are very easily occluded. This will cause sporadic connectivity and just general mayhem when you push them a bit. Wii Remotes use EDR, which definitely pushes them! So, you could try to give it line of sight, either by putting the adapter on the front or top of the PC, or (like I do) on a USB hub on the desk. That may solve your problem, though I kind of doubt it. Worth a try though! And honestly I'd recommend it in general, it's always good to avoid silly issues like that. If you decide to buy a new adapter, make sure it supports 2.1 EDR.
