I'm able to play this game using the mouse and keyboard.
The left-button is mapped to jump, the right button is mapped to shoot, and the scroll button is mapped to shake/spin. I had to map the rest of the buttons myself, but the control scheme works out very good. 07-27-2009, 01:03 AM

Yeah, it works, but I'm afraid the game won't recognize keyboard buttons when you are going for those water race galaxies (Loopdeloop), therefore not allowing to get past beginning. Unless that tilting motion is somehow recordable on single button, you can't get get those stars. But that doesn't make game unbeatable, since none of them are mandatory. 07-27-2009, 05:33 AM

Spin
Has anyone ever got the fps and gamespeed unlinked in Dolphin? This seems unclear. I get 30-35fps which is ample to play a game like SMG at, but because the gamespeed is locked to the frame rate, the game runs in slow motion which makes it unplayable. Is there anyway to unlink the two? I wouldn't mind a bit of frame rate lag if the game ran at proper speed. 07-27-2009, 06:07 AM

I've never found the watchdog setting, where's it located? (I have build 3659 - I can't find a download link to anything newer)

Managed to find build 3887 via Orleans' msn page, took me about half hour to find (I wish some download links could be posted on the dolphin site!) but unfortunately even though the frame rate counter shows 100fps, I get around 12-15 which is too laggy to play games with - game is still in slow motion, and this build has no nunchuck support, so all I can do is stand still - not much fun. Looks like I will be buying a real Wii - sigh... (before you ask, my brother has one which I've used, but I'd prefer to have wii on the PC)
Varying all of the settings above, none of them change the fact that the gamespeed is locked to the frame rate - I assume this is an integral part of dolphin? It's a pain because you HAVE to get 60fps for a game to be playable, which makes it unnecessarily important that the performance of the emulator be excellent, and it isn't. My CPU is overclocked pretty much as far as it will go, and it's almost touching 4Ghz, yet 35-40% gamespeed is pretty darn useless. I imagine it will be several more years before we have hardware capable of emulating GC/wii games. I wouldn't be quite so annoyed if it wasn't written 'fully playable' all over the front page. Clearly the idea of 'fully playable' is being stretched a bit when there's no music, corrupted sound, 15fps on a top end machine and 40% gamespeed.
