For playing Super Mario Galaxy "at 100% with LLE enabled", which is what promero14 wants to do, there is no point in waiting for Haswell. It can be done now with a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge chip.

But it could possibly be done with a cheaper Haswell chip later. It would also be more future proof for other purposes.

'Later' being the operative word. Why wait 6 months or more when he could do it now? Not sure that it'll be cheaper either. The higher-end Haswell SKU's will probably launch at the same price as high-end Ivy Bridge SKU's. Also, 1155 motherboards are probably a fair bit cheaper now than any decent 1150 'boards will be at their launch prices. And all this for what will probably be a 10-15% speed-up clock for clock vs Ivy Bridge. I just don't see the point in waiting.
As for "more future proof", well, apart from lower power consumption, a much better integrated GPU, and AVX2, I'm not sure what a Haswell platform will do that an Ivy Bridge one won't. I'd go for decent quad core Sandy/Ivy Bridge now (which will be a MASSIVE upgrade in everything from a Clarkdale i3), and if that's not enough in a few years time then Skylake, which will definitely be worth it vs current chips as it'll be a brand new core, as opposed to another 'Core' core. Although this isn't really the place for future Intel mArch speculation. 10-22-2012, 04:09 AM
A 15% increase is enough that a 3.6 or 3.7 GHz Haswell could run SMG full speed with LLE (of course it is much more complicated than this but you get the idea). That is enough to not have to overclock which could save you at least $35-$40 on the cooler. Not to mention the power savings. It is worth it.

Everything works on a properly set up emulated Wiimote except motion+. SMG doesn't use that. Actually try to use it before you ask a question.
