I tried uncompressed, Dolphin did not load them I have tried 2 formats of uncompressed dds: A8R8G8B8 and A8B8G8R8. Neither would load in Dolphin. It seems only DTX is accepted? Very strange I'll do some more digging. On a side note I ran with DXT compression on dell 2560x1600 monitor dolphin internal resolution set to 6x native (4k res) using Ishiiruka-Dolphin and visually in game I could not see a noticeable difference between the DXT and the PNG. But the performance difference is immediately clear though there is general slow down on my system in some areas of the game when pushing the render to 6x. It's all about upscaling the smaller textures so dxt doesn't add artifacts. In Photoshop I can see the difference in some textures, however I really need to zoom in for it to be apparent and Mario Galaxy's camera in game makes it so you basically never can see this.
That said I will always have pngs for any new textures I add for people who want the supreme quality, I just thought it might be nice to add a performance pack for those who want a stutter free experience and 95% quality versus stutter with 100% quality.
