You don't have to install junk, and I'm pretty sure all that program will do is act as a GUI for the rename command, so the .bat will be faster, if there's a measurable difference.

In windows, the command prompt allows you to type in commands for the computer, DOS-style. It can be much faster than doing menial or simple and repetitive tasks normally. You'd basically open up command prompt, navigate to the correct folder using the cd command, then type/paste the desired command. A batch file is basically a list of commands you've already written down, and is particularly useful if you'll want to do the same thing later. To use it, you'd open notepad, type the command, and save it in the desired folder with a .bat extension instead of the default .txt. You'd then just open it to run it.

Had i known that i wouldn't have suggested it, But i will add that it isn't really junk, It's small in size, doesn't have any bundled crapware with it, and works well, That being said. If an OS can do it, always use that route, i use the program often to rename large amounts of files, but for just a texture pack, it'd be easy enough to just do it with CMD 08-03-2014, 01:18 AM
Is there any way to reduce the stuttering that comes with changing Texture Cache Accuracy from fast to safe? I tried playing with this texture pack, but I couldn't find a way to deal with the constant stuttering.

If you rename the textures to what dolphin calls them with fast texcache, then they'll show up with it set to fast. I'm not sure what the devs' official stance on whether changing texture cache accuracy causes different filenames (there was definitely a point they didn't believe it happened) but when I last checked, it did. In the event that it didn't, changing texcache accuracy would have no effect on how a texture pack functioned.

Turn on dump textures, and look at the names of the matching textures.
