I typically game far away from my mouse and keyboard, using a wireless gamepad, typically an XBox One controller. I've always been a subscriber to the habit of saving frequently (especially in those Bethesda games!). While my confidence in the programming reliability of Dolphin to handle my in-game saves is not an issue, something I do regularly, I will always prefer to operate using save states for my own reasons. Now, I could just change my habits and either get up every time I want to save to a save state, or just save to them less often. Or I could even go dig out the old wireless Logitech keyboard/trackpad I left at work months ago that I hate to use, and just add more hardware to my setup. However, it's 2017, come on! Can't I just map a couple keyboard buttons to my controller?
So my question is this. How, if at all, can I add an "F1" and a "Shift" button to my controller? Or, if there's another way of accomplishing my goal, how can I save to and load from a save state using my controller?
Quick search did not reveal any related posts. Feel free to point me in the right direction if I didn't search well enough. If that's the case, I know, shame on me for not scouring the forums long enough (I got you covered, fam).
