Maybe I just watch so much anime that I've become numb to it. I do see your point, but I still think it's pretty toned down.

how hard can it be to find a capture device that support PAL60 & svideo and has decent support (kinda sick of my cheap ass easycap DC60 that in hardware has PAL60 support but not in drivers... )
...and doesn't cost a fortune -_- 06-25-2017, 12:56 AM

I think it's Rex and Pyra that I saw on the 40 minute E3 playthrough. I mean when I look at these... https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/xen...0613180929 https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/xen...0613180952 everything just just screams Saturday morning anime to me. The only thing Rex is missing is some spikey hair. Rex looks like a kid to me (not like under 12, but not quite mature like Shulk). I get it, RPGs and anime love youngsters. But given the style and direction of XBC 1 and X, I dunno, it's kinda weird seeing this art choice. I pegged the Xenoblade series as more like recent Star Ocean games (slightly anime, but also realistic) but it's slid over into Tales territory. I have no problems playing anime-style RPGs (don't really play anything else really), and the new style isn't going to stop me from buying it and playing it for a couple hundred hours. It's just... weird how it changed. 06-25-2017, 05:25 PM
I guess that's fair, but that kind of style is one of my favorites, and I'm pretty sure I'm not an exception in the target demographic here, so I'm not surprised at the direction, but I agree that it's quite a change from the previous game. Also, I agree, Rex looks hella young.

Yeah, I like the old aesthetic compared to the bits and pieces I've seen (I don't dare watch them since I'm still trying to finish up my first playthrough of the first one, still playing strong with my old CPU lol) of this new sequel. Also, seeing as you use slackware, I'm curious, how familiar are you with the i3 WM? I'm having some odd visual glitches with it involving my wallpaper, even with a compositor running. Been asking around and been googling a good amount, but no luck yet. 07-02-2017, 12:01 AM
I don't know anything about the i3 WM. I stick with KDE because I love all my shiny effects and transparency effects

After trying since launch (and taking a break for Echoes) I finally got a shiny rowlet.
