As a kid, I started writing fan-fics for Pokemon, then I moved onto more mature and original stuff. When I wasn't gaming, I was writing. When it was time to decide what I wanted to do in college, I still loved writing more than most other things. Didn't want to be stuck in on category of writing (e.g. Creative Writing, Technical Writing, Journalism) so I just chose English. I had planned to minor in Computer Science but I barely graduated on time with just English.
Ah, I should have written a lot more by now, but college actually made me very lazy. I still love writing. The thrill of seeing your ideas come about through the written word has always been a bigger high for me than programming. I suppose I could have majored in CS with few problems (and have a job in the field right now) but I'm glad I learned what I did about language at NIU.
Truth be told, I almost didn't want to go to college. I was thinking peace corps, but they actually require you to have a degree. Go figure.
