They'll get better.....eventually...... Spoiler: Shonumi Wrote:Before I forget, anyone hear about Nvidia's new Titan GPU? I know nothing about calculating how strong a GPU is; anyone care to estimate whether or not it could do 4x IR at 9xSSAA? Still too demanding? Just curious. >People hear about this new super GPU called GK110 that Nvidia developed for the HPC market under the name Tesla K20 and K20X >People complain that they aren't releasing a geforce version of this beast for gamers to outcompete AMDs high end offerings. Saying things like "I don't care how much it costs just release it already and I'll buy it!". Despite the fact that the main reason they didn't do it is because it would obviously cost far too much for that market due to its ridiculous die size, complex I/O wiring, huge production overhead, and emphasis on DP throughput which is useless for gaming but important for HPC. >Nvidia releases it >Universal reaction: "herpderp why is this so god damn expensive? Nobody is going to buy it at that price point!" Everyone suddenly does a 180 when they see the price tag. Christ consumers are dumb. Sometimes I wonder why tech. businesses even try to please their technically illiterate consumers. Oh right, money. Anyways it's the fastest single GPU on the planet by a large margin but the dual GPU cards (GTX 690 and HD 7990) still beat it by a large margin at the same price point. It has the advantage of being smaller, quieter, and not requiring good SLI scaling to reach high performance though. For something like dolphin that doesn't make use of SLI it should be the fastest solution available. And if you have an infinite supply of money a tri-sli GTX titan setup is the fastest configuration possible from either brand, beating a dual 690/7990 setup in quad SLI but costing $1,000 more. To my amazement the HD 7970 still beats it in most compute applications by a fair to large margin. In DP workloads it would likely be the other way around but there are very few of those for desktops. In games it's about 25% faster than the GTX 680 on average. Also it's named after the titan supercomputer in oak ridge national laboratory which uses its tesla K20x counterpart (and used a fermi based tesla before it was upgraded) and is currently the fastest supercomputer in the world. As far as dolphin goes I would expect it to be 35-50% faster than a GTX 680 which still isn't anywhere near enough for 4x IR + 9xSSAA in the more demanding titles.

Thanks for the rundown NV, I can always count on you for GPU insights. Guess 4x IR + 9xSSAA really is that ridiculously demanding.
Just found out that my 3DS is actually part of the Ambassador Program. I remember reading some stuff a while ago that said you needed to connect to their eShop at least once before a certain date. I missed that date since the old crappy Comcast router we used to have wouldn't let it connect to the internet. I figured I'd missed out, but it turns out I'm in luck. Never owned F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Super Mario Advanced 3, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, LoZ: The Minish Cap, or Kirby & The Amazing Mirror for the GBA, but I'm not one to turn down free games. I'm still pissed about the delays with Fire Emblem: Awakening, and I decided to just forget about it altogether, though I guess getting one of the GBA Fire Emblem games partly makes up for it. 02-28-2013, 07:31 AM

Eh. From what I understand it's a lot better than it used to be. That problem seems to be fixed for nearly all major games. The biggest problem with SLI/crossfire that I've come to realize is that only the biggest games can get proper support for it. "Typical" AAA games get half-assed support and no name games get no support at all. Not to mention the scaling depends on many factors and is very hit or miss. Oh and probably the worst part is that SLI/Crossfire users experience A LOT more issues than regular users, especially crossfire. The concept sounds great but the software side of the execution is not always perfect. With a single GPU you get a much more reliable experience.

I Binged it. Never mind. And I found a way to fairly see which search engine is better.
http://www.bingiton.com/ I did it 5 times and each time Bing one almost all the searches. PC Specs

Alright. And what did you find out from your beloved bing?

That's the point. Google is too main stream and IN MY OPINION is worse than Bing. If you have a different opinion, GOOD FOR YOU.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
