Having an uneven number of them will only confuse the Wiimote...
You should have a VERY large (over 20cm) gap between 2 sets (or singles but the light can be a little weak) of IR LEDs. The SFH485P's you mentioned work great. Try putting them in this arrangement though: o-o--------------------o-o 2 per side should be thought of as a minumum, in the real sensor bar there's 5 on each side, fanned out slightly to allow the Wiimote to see them at any angle. 11-24-2009, 01:20 AM
i built one. heres a quick pic(its very very ugly! but works like a charm):
setup overview: i used a resister before, but it was unnecessary, so i bypassed it now. unfortunately i dont know what LEDs i did exactly use, but they seem low quality as you can see them glowing slightly red in the dark(if i also turn my monitors off^^) 11-24-2009, 06:16 AM
indeed having one in middle is confusing,
I have 1--------------1---------------1 reason I have free because if one burned I can replace it with resistor. also my design works with usb, (because he dont want batteries). as for casing I used battery power sensor bar, then stripped it out result look good too 10-01-2010, 08:41 PM
