This hasn't trickled down to Scan yet. Anyway, as soon as a 4GB GTX 770 reaches what I would call affordable I'll grab one.

I din't see that in the Tom's Hardware article, but I saw it later in Hexus (which conveniently gave the new prices in pounds). Either way, it technically it hasn't trickled down to scan, although this is actually because it isn't supposed to have.

The Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB costs €283 at Amazon Spain. Nnngghhh.... and my 760 cost €250 two months ago .
This morning I used the Samsung Migration Software, so now I'm using a SSD. It boots very fast, though it didn't help loading times in Zelda TP texture pack as much as I thought it would. The Noctua NH-D14 is godly. At 4.1GHz I get almost 30ºC less than with the stock cooler (around 54ºC at that speed). Now I have the CPU clocked at 4.4GHz, and it reaches 72ºC with Prime95. Speeds and vcore: - 4.1GHz -> 1.19v - 4.3GHz -> 1.25v - 4.4GHz -> 1.295v - 4.5GHz -> 1.335v and it still crashed (it may need 1.35v, but I think that's a bit unsafe and hot). It seems I've hit a wall. So now I'm at 4.4GHz.

Yeah the prices look pretty decent now. I think I'll stick with my R9 280x though. I've seen games take up over 2GB already and I have hopes for Mantle.
Nice overclock. 4.3/4.4GHz is definitely your sweet spot yes. 1.35v is still OK, but I prefer 24/7ing on something lower myself. 11-01-2013, 04:07 AM
If you could put it in number (preferably percentages), by how much would you say the quality of video rendered via a HDMI cable is better than when a VGA is used. Now that my ps3 no longer works i have no other device at home i can use to stream my videos, which means i have to stick to the old VGA to Laptop connection but remain hesitant whenever i think of the amount of quality i may be losing

Any number given would have to be complete horseshit. VGAs quality varies depending on the quality of the cable and the circuits on each end. As well as how the source and receiving devices handle the input/output. Also are you using a monitor or HDTV? On an HDTV VGA often produces better image quality than HDMI with PCs depending on the model. Generally speaking you shouldn't notice much if any difference between the two in most instances. Excluding certain exceptions, mainly with HDTVs handling overscanning and scaling. Edit: I've tried shadowplay and it's damn near perfect. The image quality is indistinguishable from raw cap. File sizes are very small. And there is virtually no performance hit even in the most stressful games. I have only one issue with it. It's locked to 1080p 60 fps. I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor so the resulting scaling fucks up the image quality a bit, particularly text. I have this same issue with dxtory though. We really need custom resolutions/aspect ratios. Then it would be perfect.

You'll be fine with VGA. I doubt you'll even notice the difference.
