Weren't you the one that got the used GTX 260 C216? Why would you downgrade to kaveri?
Edit:
@AnyOldName3
After digging up some articles, you're right. It's supposed to run at 90C, not 120C.

@DatKid20
But why buy one then? There is no advantage.

I thought that was the 290X, so the 280X gets those temps too? I thought the days of hot temperatures were a thing of the past. I guess I was wrong. My old 4890 was idling at more or less 56ºC, and reached a bit over 90ºC when it was dirty (I need an air compressor ). Once cleaned, it didn't reach 80ºC. It was a really noisy GPU too. However, my GTX 760 usually idles at 27ºC and max temp I saw was during Crysis 2, 70ºC. Usually doesn't go over 65ºC (overclocked, of course).

Why would you spend all that money on something that isn't going to improve your performance? masterotaku Wrote:I thought the days of hot temperatures were a thing of the past. I guess I was wrong. The exact opposite has been the case. Thermal tolerance and dissipation have been increasing every year over the last decade for GPUs.

NVIDIA users can try out Shadowplay with the latest drivers. They aren't officially out (until tomorrow), but it leaked somehow.

If it's going to end up on the web (youtube, vimeo, etc.) it's going to be compressed to hell anyways. You'll never be able to notice the difference. Unless these are for personal use. But why would they be?
