Are you using JITIL instead of JIT by any chance? Or some other weird setting? If you had a cpu bug caused by this, i think it could destroy your savegame in the ways you describe.
[GC] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Hey, can anyone offer some help? I've been playing Twilight Princess (NTSC-U, Gamecube version, correct MD5) on Dolphin 5.0m D3D11, 1080p 4xMSAA, forced to 16:9 running in fullscreen. It's been working absolutely fine, running at 30fps, Hyrule Field Speed Hack enabled. Using this widescreen code: "0445391C 3FE38E39" to run it in 16:9 with no problems.
But, the game's also been a little too easy for my liking, so I tried enabling these two AR codes included in the ISO: "Damage x2 (brkirch)" Spoiler: Spoiler: "GFX FIFO: Unknown Opcode (0x02 @ 00000000080B049E3, preprocess=false) This means one of the following: * The emulated GPU got desynced, disabling dual core can help * Command stream corrupted by some spurious memory bug * This really is an unknown opcode (unlikely) * Some other sort of bug Further errors will be sent to the Video Backend log and Dolphin will now likely crash or hang. Enjoy." Afterwards, this pops up: "Warning Illegal command 02 CPBase: 0x0045ac20 CPEnd: 0x004fac00 CPHiWatermark: 0x0009c000 CPLoWatermark: 0x00050000 CPReadWriteDistance: 0x0004f0a0 CPWritePointer: 0x0048ad80 CPBreakpoint: 0x00000000 bFF_GPReadEnable: true bFF_BPEnable: false bFF_BPInt: false bFF_Breakpoint: false bFF_GPLinkEnable: true bFF_HiWatermarkInt: true bFF_LoWatermarkInt: false" At which point the game's graphics get glitchy and stretched, and it flickers black until I alt+ctrl+del, open task manager, and close it manually. So.. what exactly is happening here, and why does it only happen with those codes enabled? Are they for an older version of Dolphin, or is there some other incompatibility? If they are incompatible, is there any way to update it so it works? Any help is much appreciated! 07-12-2016, 07:19 AM

This game has been working fine for me (with the Hyrule Field speed hack) on my main computer, but just tried this on a different computer (i7-6500U, 6GB 1600MHz DDR3, no GPU) and though performance-wise it works great, the minimap is destroyed.
It's not just different edges or going black like I've seen other people report, it goes totally haywire and is totally useless. First, the location indicator arrow doesn't work at all anywhere, it is frozen in some random spot or nonexistant. Exactly what the map itself looks like varies depending on where I am, some places it displays a very weak gray outline of the actual minimap (location arrow still doesn't work though). Some times it sort of shows it the same way, but with chunks of the map moved around and duplicated and tons of boxy garble. And (weirdest of all) sometimes it shows random chunks of texture maps, everything from character textures to rock textures to tree bark, often mixes of them. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've played through the game once on my other computer and know my way around pretty well, so most places I can sort of do without it, but it makes the light-collection sessions really really annoyingly hard. 07-22-2016, 02:15 AM
i cant play the gc ntsc rom, when i select a file to play it suddenly crashes, any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi!
When I use 4.x versions of Dolphin minimap in Z:TP is broken, but in 5.0 it doesn't show up at all! I also can't see dungeon map, neither full or mini. SpeedHack and Widescreen Code have no effect. No matter what I do I can't solve this problem. Is there any known way to fix minimap? This is so sad, cuz game itself works perfectly in 1080p, but I can't play without map(
From the game's wiki page here on Dolphin:
* On Direct3D api, minimap will have some noise artifacts if Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering, or Texture Filtering are enabled. Disable all 3 in order to get "clean" map. For OpenGL, disable Anti-Aliasing. * The Hyrule Field Speed Hack can also cause issues with the minimap. 07-22-2016, 08:20 AM
i need help, the game keeps crashing after i select a file to play, can anyone help me solve this please?
i can use the same rom in dolphin 4.4 with no major problem at all. but i havent had any luck in dolphin 5.0, i ve tried (pal) and (ntsc) and neither will work. 07-24-2016, 04:06 AM

You must have messed up something. No issues here with Dolphin 5.0 when running Twilight Princess. Maybe you did hide the minimap through the D-Pad button? Which backend renderer do you use? OpenGL, D3D11 or D3D12? You might wanna change between those, especially since D3D12 is experimental for now. Make sure you don't open the graphics settings tab during gameplay, this reverts the settings back to the user preferences. You might wanna try changing Anti-Aliasing and Anistropic filtering (disable it for example).
Ohh yea, I have read your question. I just wondered if you checked the game's wiki page before posting your issue. Most of the time it has vital information on how to fix or improve a particular game. Don't get mad yet. So why would this be useless for Dolphin 5.0? The wiki page perfectly posts info on how to fix the minimap, which was your issue right? I am getting confussed. So you are saying that earlier versions of Dolphin (pre-5.0) don't have this issue? Dolphin 5.0 seems to be the best version so far, most of my games in my library play without any issues, including Twilight Princess. Yet, I have to admit the minimap may have some noise when using the wrong settings. But it is still perfectly visible to read. |
