The item text glitch also happens in OpenGL, which is usually the most accurate backend, but not in this case.

OpenGL is not "usually" more accurate than the software renderer (more like never?) :p Sorry, I haven't had the chance to check this game out myself, even though I said I would. Been getting backed up at work lately (holiday season madness). 12-05-2013, 10:20 AM
Yes, I would include the software backend except realistically, noone uses it since it's not optimized at all and does not support multi-core like pcsx2 does.
Off-topic - Fwiw, PCSX2's software renderer probably isn't as good as it could be, at least it's still painfully slow in a number of "non-demanding" games (*cough*Tales of Legendia*cough*), but it's still usable for things other than debugging unlike Dolphin's. The software rasterizer isn't going to get any better unless someone feels interested in that. Such is the way of free software.

Though that may be true, I find Dolphin to be amazing just for the fact that its hardware renderers (with EFB set to RAM) are more accurate than pcsx2's software renderer. The only thing going for pcsx2 is its software renderer since a lot of games look nothing like they're suppose to on its hardware renderer.

Personally, I'm also particularly impressed with PPSSPP's hardware renderer. Maybe I haven't played a whole lot of games (5 so far) but most games just work, like magic or something. Definitely agree that Dolphin's HW renderers are more accurate than PCSX2's. Only a few games really work with OpenGL on Linux, whereas OpenGL on Linux on Dolphin just works (which surprised me when I started playing Dolphin 2 years ago, OpenGL gets treated so badly by so many other emus). Gotta try to stay on topic though... >_<

Bit of an update on that menu thing I encountered. Still using 4.0.2 and DX9 backend, the menu seems stable, but will occasionally flicker for a fraction of a second when playing and using items (only out of combat mind you)

When i tried i couldn't replicate this at the beginning of the game. Also which game region you use and graphic backend? 12-06-2013, 09:43 PM

I think that the glitch is mainly with the DX11 backend, at least I'm guessing the latest development versions use that one exclusively.
