I had also been seeing occasional brown or black screens during cutscenes, but I don't recall which revision I had been using when that happened..I've started updating my revision every couple of days.I am not getting the issue, do you open your graphic configuration window while running the game overriding the default gameini settings? If no please post pics of your graphic options.

Alright, here are pictures of my graphics settings, plus the game's ini settings. Note that the custom projection hack was turned off to test to see if the issue was with that.
Just tried, happens with OpenGL too, plus it runs slower than D3D
EDIT: I should note that I didn't see this happening until after rescuing Fina from Valua and thus having a full party. (Not sure if this was because of me hitting a point in the game or me updating my build) 11-27-2013, 05:27 AM
Try going back several builds until you can find a rough range of which revisions have the issue and which don't. From there you can further narrow it down to find the revision/commit that introduces the issue, and from there we can make a proper issue report. I'd start from 4.0 as the oldest build to test, unless of course 4.0 has this issue, in which case you may have dig up even older revisions.
Have not had a chance to look into this myself and it's gonna be another long night for me. Might get some time on Wednesday to try it though. 11-27-2013, 05:50 AM
Well, even 4.0 has the issue for me. Perhaps it's my savegame slightly corrupted or something? If any of you manage to not find the issue when looking for yours, I could upload my memory card file if that helps.

It's a bug with the D3D backend where the screen suddenly goes grey during a cutscene. Happens with Tales of Symphonia, Code Veronica X, and probably others I haven't tested. Haven't had it yet with OpenGL, though.
Just tried this game again and it runs a lot better in recent revisions (4.0-434 atm) for
me compared to the last time i tried it, even the cutscenes run all at fullspeed now, unfortunatly it still crashes randomly with the sound going beeeeep from time to time(see code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6705) , was able to play for an hour without it crashing at one point but then it crashed and i lost some progress so playing becomes a gamble, only thing that seems to help is disabling dual core but it is way to slow to play without it for me. 11-28-2013, 01:18 AM
Try 4.0 if you just want to play this game without any major issues. The development builds are bleeding edge software with all the bugs that come with it. It's not always the greatest to use the latest. You may have to manually disable the Projection Hack in 4.0 though (right-click the game in Dolphin, Properties -> GameConfig).

It freezes in 4.0 stable too after about half an hour for me, its an old issue with this game and it was never really resolved so far. |
